  1. Bought the 1.6 Hdi two weeks ago and had the same problem before I had even left the dealer's forecourt. Dangerous and downright annoying. Have considered taking it to one of these firms that modify controls for the disabled to see if they can come up with a solution without negating the warranty. Only other option is to get rid of it and tell Citroen why - not that they will give a hoot. regards retired sailor.
  2. As I said it won't deter the determined thief but i t might deter the opportunist chancing his arm at prising the cradle out of the hook so I don't consider it a waste of time and as I 'm on my third Berlingo without losing a spare ........
  3. It might not deter the determined thief but I have modified the spare wheel carrier by removing the hook and welding on a 40mm long extension to the hook. It needs to be angled in so that the distance between the extension and the body of the hook is 10mm. This ensures the cradle can only be released from the hook when the bolt is completely unscrewed. I've just modified my third one and it's a simple job for anyone with a hacksaw and a welding kit. Your local friendly blacksmith perhaps. I am amazed that Citroen can't introduce this simple mod but considering they can't even get the basics right, I'm not surprised.
  4. I seem to remember reading that some members were having problems when braking whereby as well as pressing the brake pedal, their foot was also catching the accelerator pedal. I have just replaced my 2.0 Hdi with the 1.6 Hdi and I am sure the pedals have altered because I am now suffering the same problem which I consider to be really annoying if not dangerous. (I don't have big feet). Prior to owning the multispace I owned a 1.9 van which never gave me any problems. I will be grateful for any advice but I have already considered asking for my old 2.0 Hdi back again.
