hi, firstly im new to the site, it looks like great source of information and i hope to be able to help others too, the is actually my 4th Xantia belive it or not :rolleyes: , ive found them to be very comfortable, useful and good cars, ive had 2 previous 1.9 TDs my first was absolutly brilliant, the second wasnt but it was almost free so i got it scrapped, my 3rd was an Activa which was ok for the most part and certainly swift but it too had various problems, i now have another 1.9TD which is very clean and tidy and although it has a few miles on it, it is in good condition and drives well. Anyway introduction over i have a problem with the a/c compressor, sometimes it will engage and work fine but more often than not the a/c wont turn on, a friend suspects its the clutch on the compressor, ive looked around and compressors are pretty easily available if i cant fix this one but my main question was, are the ones from the 1.9TD and the 2.1TD the same?, they certainly look the same but i want to make sure first, also as the Peugeot 406 uses the same engine and thier compressors look the same can i assume one from a 406 will work too?, i appreciate any advie anyone can share on the matter as i want it running as im taking the car to europe soon and it tends to get rather hot out there at this time of year!!.
