  1. Thanks for that info Steve, i have sent him an email and awaiting a reply.
  2. Hi all, I have a vehicle fitted with the PSA 2.2 HDi diesel engine. Had some good info off this site, so will pass this on. My car was suffering from a puffing injector, were exhaust gasses were passing the injector indicating a faulty injector seal, on closer inspection it turned out to be 2 very loose injector retaining bolts. now i have never touched the injectors in the 3 years i have owned this vehicle, so was suprised that they were so loose, result one broken injector. I also checked the other 3 injector retaining bolts, and found these to be well under the recommended torque, ie not very tight. this is on a 2001 C5 2.2 HDi auto with 200000 miles. Now require a new injector, if any one knows of were i can get one from for a good price.
  3. Ok thanks for that.
  4. Hi can any one tell me how the headlights are adjusted, mainly up and down. Thanks
  5. Well just an update, DPF has been emptied and also the CAT, before remap. its recomended to remap before the deFAPing and deCATing. Remap done curtesy of woodywoodpecker, although I do have the software to do this, I have put the remap on to the ecu and everything seems to be running as it should, only problem I have is the fuel consumption but that could be down to the after market air flow sensor (another part that can cause an ESP/ASR fault) well since the remap done about 1500 miles and had no problems or warning lights. Yesterday I put back on the original ECU map to eliminate the fuel consumption being caused by the remap, it is still returning the same, I will be trying an original citroen air flow sensor some time soon, as I suspect the after market sensor is over fueling. I will let you know the out come, but from what i have seen this remap does do what its supposed to do. What i did notice, is the car went into regen mode tonight after doing about 140 miles, but no warning lights apeared.
  6. double post
  7. I have an 01 C5, with 196k miles. I find WD40 on the on the pivot points shuts it up.
  8. Just a warning re ESP/ASR if display flashes up that it's not functioning believe me it isn't, TC and ABS still work though, found this out last week in the snow when the back end let go at a junction and ended up side ways on the wrong side of the road. Any way re the ESP and Anti pollution fault I have replaced MAF sensor and both problems have disappeared and car is back upto full power, oh and they don't always show up as a fault.
  9. A new to me turbo now fitted and working. Back to auto locking doors.
  10. ok thanks.
  11. thanks but would it be about the same price for the 2.2 hdi?
  12. cheers for that Coastliner the button works to lock the doors but not to set it to auto lock, but all immeterial now as I have blown the turbo on it, and if i cant find a reasonably priced replacement turbo it will be getting scrapped. Thanks Alan
  13. Hi my C5 is a 2001 model with out this feature, I would like to know if any one knows if its possible to retrofit this feature, I have tried the lock button in the car and it doesnt activate it. Thanks Alan.
  14. Hi I also have the same problem, but mine is on a 2001 which has done 190000 miles, I honestly dont think it any thing serious other than rust on the radius arm pivot faces (if you know what I mean) this has been like this for well over 18 months, my car has gone through 3 MOT tests (taxi has 6 month tests)and non have ever mentioned bearing wear, I usually just apply light oil at the pivot points and that shuts it up for a month or so. There is defenetly nothing wrong with the actual bearings on my vehicle, radious or wheel, as this would show up on abnormal tyre wear, my rears have been on about 2 years and done about 40000 miles and have an even wear all round. I would do this or get a mechanic to oil these pivot points before looking at any expensive repairs.
  15. Not got the cable yet, hopefully will have it next week, I havnt recieved any mail of you i'm afraid. So looking forward to getting this off the car. thanks Alan
  16. Hi its early days yet, but early signs are looking good, performance isnt back to 100% yet i dont think, but hopefully a follow up with an ECU remap will sort it out. Basicly the particulte filter has been emptied and the cat, so now its a straight through pipe. esp/asr fault doesnt show as often now, but when it does it only cuts the power for a few minutes, then back to normal, until the next restart. My car being a working car I dont turn it off often. at a guess I would say your system isnt working and your FAP is blocked.
  17. Hi it sounds like you need a new one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Citroen-C5-Heater-Control-Module-Resistor-AC-6441L2-/400158216152?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d2b49cfd8 it fits into the heater box in the drivers foot well behind the central console.
  18. Well car is now minus a cat and particulate filter, what a difference, just the ecu to sort now.
  19. Hi my car is a 2001 model, and have had it 2 and a half years it has now got 190000 miles on the clock, I use the car as a taxi, for the first 2 years the DPF system worked fine it was done by citroen just before i bought it and has covered the 50000 miles it is supposed to do, any way now the system isn't working, been quoted aprox £600 to sort it as the additive ecu is bust plus a couple of sensors and it would need the eloys and a FAP (a few big holes may be drilled through it and the cat just to stop it blocking up), what a con that is I jet washed mine out and now its fine, plus labour, it just isn't worth paying out to sort it properly as I will only be keeping it on the road for 6 months max, then it will be off to car heaven. I would be happy if I could stop it going into limp mode every time I stop then start the engine. Re. MOT that was done yesterday and smoke test was 0.97 the limit is 3.00 and thats with the system not working!! Any way thanks for the reply, and I hope you enjoy your C5, I have but only because it was an AUTO.
  20. Hi I have noticed a few of the big ECU remappers that advertise on the net, are now offering the service of DPF/FAP system removal off the main ECU, leaving you free to remove the particulate filter off the vehicle. Has any one had this done to their car, or know any one that has? and if so what was the result. I have spoken to a remapper offering this service, and the price quoted seems very reasonable, they even offer the service of dismantling the FAP for you if you want. I know for a fact the removal of the FAP and CAT converter will in no way affect the MOT. Any info would be appreciated, as this is a route I want to go down to get the most out of my C5 2.2 hdi auto. Thanks Al
  21. Hi thanks coastline, i did check on citroen service, and it seemed that all C5s used the same parts for rear axle assembly, as in it doesnt give you an option of model of car. I just want to get rid of the squeaks on knocks coming from rear susspension as its letting the car down, and really doing my head in now. Thanks
  22. Hi thanks for the info, managed to get back on the citroen site and roughly priced up what is needed, any what is involved with changing these parts and the price, i was thinking of maybe just changing the whole rear subframe, managed to find one off a car with only 60,000 miles on it for £170, aslong as i can do everything with out actually splitting brake/susspension pipes it looks like 4 bolts holding every thing on. So has any one taken that route, and any advice would be helpfull. thanks ataxidriver64
  23. hi coastline, i dont suppose you know which bits i requier do you, the rear suspension has gone from loud bangs to squeaking now, so must be roller bearings dried up at a guess, car is on 183000 now and intend to keep it on the road as long as possible. thanks for your help, ataxidriver
  24. I have had the car a 2001 estate and is used as a taxi, for approx 18 months now and covered 35000 miles the car has done 174000,when i bought it i found out the system had only just been seviced so think i have around 15000 miles before fluid and filter need looking at. Only planned to have it for 2 years, but will see how things go.
  25. Wow didnt expect that, thanks i take it these bits are citroen only parts, great site and thanks again Coastline, and why do you dislike 2.2 hdi, mine is auto and pulls like a train lol.
