  1. At last - the Anti Polution Warming Light problem has been fixed. It was an insulation problem with the exhaust sensor. <_< Car now seems fine - except the fuel economy - 35mpg average. :)
  2. :( Had my 2.2 HDI C8 for a year now. Taken it to Spain twice. Problems to date are: 1) Engine "Anti Polution Warning light comes on after 10 mins at 70mph - 2 hours later car reduces power - very dangerous if overtaking ona motorway uphill at the time. Fault "fixed" by local dealer 5 times, the last time succesfully. 2) Rear Screen Heater comes on on its own accord - dealer tried to fix it 5 times - last time claimed it was normal in cold weather. True? 3) Rear washer decided to spray inside car - wrecked rear parking sensor electrics and sliding door controller. Did this twice. 4) Sat Nav, when in an "unmapped area" crashes the radio/nav computer. Takes 5 mins to re-start (umpteen times). 5) Uneconomical for a diesel, average 34 mpg - including autoroute for 1000 miles to Spain. All "admitted :) " faults eventually fixed by local dealer, but after multiple attempts. What ever the fault, the first effort is to "clean" the connector. 2nd is to randomly change a part, 3rd is to actually investigate & fix the fault (except the engine warning light problem). Am i just unlucky or are these common problems. In any case, seems sad to have to go through this for a £23,000 car. Car seems ok now. Wish I'd bought something else - but there are horror stories about the C8 competitors too. If only BMW made a people carrier. :D
  3. My C8 has the sat nav with the Citroen dealer fit 6 disk CD changer. Anyone tried to fit a MP3 capable CD multi changer? :)
  4. The HDi engines take a while to warm up. To "help" them, Citroen have fitted a diesel powered heater under the car. This fires up when you start from cold - only on a cold day though - and helps the car get to temperature quicker. This means (a) the engine gets to its efficient operating temperature quicker, (:) the cabin gets a flow of warm air quicker. When I first got my 2.2 HDI C8 I noticed the smoke and though "what the f*&k is going on!". My local dealer explained all. It's only recently it's started doing again since the weather has got colder. Once the car gets up to proper working temp, the "special" heater switches off (as long as the car is working fine - of course!) So, the smoke you are all seeing is produced by something not too disimilar to your central heating boiler at home. :D
