  1. when i test drove mined a 03 model, power sterring was going heavy now and then, when the garage sorted it out turned out to be a broken front spring, couldnt tell it was a spring problem as i was driving, seems ok now, 1500 miles since bought, although they did fit the spring wrong and i had to go have it put right as it was creaking like mad.
  2. c3 1.6 Exclusive manual 52 plate old c3 1.6 Exclusive Sensodrive 05 Plate old c3 1.4HDi16v Exclusive manual 03 Plate Present, im poor now
  3. well after 3 years without c3, I have retruned to one bought a C3 1.4HDi 16v Exclusive, down graded from 2.0 auto picasso. last C3 was Sensodrive which i hated when at roundabouts and junctions, bought this one despite a few things wrong when i test drove it, i had been standing for a whle so batttery was dead, but started straight away with booster connected, took it a test drive suprised by the power, and seem ok, but for power steering kept going heavy, airbag light was on and aircon wouldnt come on at all until engine reved and when it charged battery a bit, the auto on aircon didnt work, the n/s hadlight was full of water that seems to be a fault has the other i looked at had same problem. told garage about the things wrong and he said straight away he would do them and if they werent done i dont have it, this was thurday he phoned friday to say it should be done for saturday and to phone, on sat it wasnt ready in the morning but i picked it up a 4pm. Had newheadlight fitted, airbag light was done and aircon worked properly, the power steering fault was actually a suspension problem, any all seems fine and went a bit of a run yesterday everything seems to work, miss the fuel computer, and i have one that plugs in the diagnostic socket but it doesnt work but did in the picasso, so not happy with that but not major problem, time will tell how well it does with MPG but anything is better than 22 to 26 MPG of the picasso. car is 6 years old and only done 33600 miles , looked at 2 desire models and they had 45 and 66 thousand on them and they werent up to much and lacked the extras i had in the pic was going to have the 45000 one but noticed the paintwork was respray on the bumper and it put me off. Hope it gives me some years of happy motoring without too many problems
  4. Just looked on dealer list they have a C3 listed but reg. No. is wrong but they have it wrong on my sales sheet, they are asking £7999, if they do sell it for that they have made 1600 profit. I wished I never looked now, mind you I think it's worth it for the Swift's gearbox. Had red because I asked what they could get for 1st March, said I liked Blue first and he asked for second choice, when I said red he said he could get one of them and it 300 cheaper, so had Red, I quite like it it looks a bit sporty, although it was mostly white coming from work to night, not driven in snow as it melted on the main roads and the country lanes had hardly any on them. I might get a portable DVD myself yet, not made my mind up though, could even get a cheap laptop
  5. Don't know if I can fit the DVD player yet, found some pictures of a replacement dash where the radio fits, these were in Malaysia and Germany, I don't know whether to bother at the moment because it will not be a easy job, may just try and get my MP3 player connected if I can. Not going to have much chance to do many miles in car because of the weather was hopeing to get it run in qucikly. This is my first car I have ever had on the first of the month, was expecting them to phone and say they could not get it, was a bit disappionted in the MPG meter it does not do Average MPG just Instantanous MPG, someone in Singapore has just had one and theirs has goy Ave MPG, I would say that the car does seem to be good other than a few rattles but I can put up with them.
  6. Swift is going good, Gearbox is very sweet, the ride is a little firm but seems to be ok, Springs seem to squeek going over road humps person at works does the same, does lack on some equipment but up to yet happy with it, reversing was a bit scary the C3 had very slow response but the swift went backwards like a rocket first time I tried, but got used to it now, don't know what the speed will be like but it seems to go pretty quick with just the low revs, so when it is run in it should fly, boot space is smaller not a problem for me, seats fold better than the C3, not as many storage places as the C3 but it was a lot cheaper to buy. I may still pop in for a nosey now and then to see whats happening. That eco mode is a pain, was not too bad with the dvd i had because it did't go off but with the standard CD player it did my head in over the last week because I have my breaks at work sitting in my car.
  7. Could be just coincidence that it has not been working the same since XWK update, as I said I only filled it up with twice since, the miles left in Tank is has always been all over the place, to be far I have had other cars where the petrol gauge has not been very accurate. Only reason I'm getting a different car is the sensodrive gearbox, I'm not the only person that finds junctions annoying and dangerous with this gearbox, after reading all over the net, there does not seem anyway of getting rid of the problem, I know lots of people love the gearbox but after 11 months I can not get used to the gearbox so see no point in carrying on with it, it's costing me a arm and a leg to change my car with the deprecation on the C3 but I hope it is all worth it, Wednesday I should find out.
  8. My lights all light up when full, first one can go out anything between 20 and 80 miles, mostly forty miles, since the last recall think it was XWK I have only filled my tank twice, both times the last light has not come on or only come on briefly, I have never let the tank go so low as a buzzer comes on just the light and only ever got 8 gallons in, personally I don't trust the gauge a little at all, same with the fuel computer it is always about 2-3 mpg out, I can not help anymore because I will only have the car until the 1st because I have given up on the sensodrive gearbox.
  9. I would be happy with 35 or even 30 local driving, had a 1.3vvt yaris years ago that struggled with very gentle diving to get 35. I think the service interval is very poor but should manage a year at the present mileage I do. I think the Mini is ok to look at outside but hate the interior and price. Has same trouble with the last C3 it was 6 months old and went loads of garages and they all came up with £7000, so was not overhall suprised about the £6400 after 11 months, as much as I seem to be draw to Citroen with there unusual style, I think the fact that they have very bad P/x values and terrible garages I think I have probably had my last Citroen, to be honest wished I had kept the Honda the only problem was engine was too small why they don't bring the 1.5 in this country I don't know. I have never had a Suzuki before, even in motorbike form, so only time will tell if they are reliable and the p/x value I hope will be a long time of, has I want to make this car last me a long time, passed my test Dec 1987 and this will be my 27 car, so getting a little fed up of changing them
  10. I would not of bought the 1.4 auto, would not of been fast enough for me but would of had the 1.6 auto if it was out then, altough MPG is lower on the proper autos I think it's worth it but if they used a CVT gearbox it would be much better, they are smooth faster than conventional autos and almost as fast a manual with similar MPG. I saw the bloke at work today with the swift, he was coming towards me with his thumbs down sign, I though what wrong with his car has I had just ordered one, but all it was his MPG had droped from 40 to 35MPG, at the moment I'm getting 30 ish out of my C3 so 35 of the swift is better but how you drive can make all the difference, so will see in March.
  11. Well I have now part exchanged my c3 so it will be going on the first of March, what will I miss about it. The Climate control. Auto lock doors Won't miss:- the sensodrive gearbox. Auto Headlight Eco mode Replacement will be Suzuki Swift 1.5 GLX Automatic, OK so it has not got some of the fancy electrics but the gearbox seems very smooth from my test drive and someone that bought one 3 weeks ago, it;s still got air conditioning but not climate control, has keyless entry which I'm not sure about at the moment, but it looks and drives ok, person at work says they are nippy, 0 to 60 does show it slightly better than the C3, MPG does say slightly less but time will tell, Road tax dearer, insurance won't be much difference, I believe the serviceing is only 9000 miles but that will only be once a year at my present mileage. So roll on march, Don't get me wrong I will sort of be sorry to let the C3 go but that gearbox totally spoils it for me, I could of gone for the C3 1.6 Auto but I have read too much about bad gearbox problems, the Suzuki is a lot cheaper over £1500, deprecation is really unknown on the New Swift at the moment but predictions have been good and the C3 takes some beating 10 months £5000, anyway there is noway that I will be changing car again in a hurry and this may be the last new car I will buy anyway. So I may still pop in here now and then just to see how citroens are making there cars.
  12. Don't know about the adaptor as I have wired mine myself, the center display works as normal and if you put the oringal radio back in it works, I put mine back to take it for recent recall and it worked fine. One thing to do is to turn the radio off at the power switch before removal some people have had problems if they did not do that.
  13. Had recall done today only took an hour, clutch judder had dissappeared before it was taken in so no point in test drive, don't know what it cured but reset my fuel computer :o . My MPG has averaged 36 mpg since having it 6500 miles, it has not done very well lately mainly because of bad weather and the fact I sometimes run the engine at work to keep warm at breaks, the worst it has done is 30mpg or indicated by the car 32.8MPG, best has been 42.6mpg and car said 46 I have check MPG since buying the car and it is always about 2-3 mpg less than cars says. I still like the car but wish the gearbox worked better at junctions :D , I aways leave the climate control on it worth the few MPG differnce in my opinion plus it needs to be used regularly to keep it in good condition, dont use auto lights as they annoy me going under bridges etc., auto wiper work ok most of the time althought they do got to full speed when a lot of dirt on windscreen and not much rain. Has for changing my car have not decided what to do yet I will see how it goes from now until march and if it annoys me too much it will be goodbye Citroen, unless anyone has an BX GTi Auto in very good condition, I was tempted a while ago with one on ebay but was a goodboy :P .
  14. Car is booked in for recall on the 9th and technician has got to go in car to check juddering clutch, so they will probably tell me I'm driving it wrong, I asked how long it would take and he said if the gearbox has got to come out it's a big job, so that does not sound promising, if this does not get sorted it will be going what ever I lose on it just not happy, did think of part ex changing it for the 1.6 sx auto but from what I've hear about the auto box it does not sound to good.
  15. had a look on Parkers website and they say with 10,000 miles £7300 for trade in £6900 poor private mines only done 6500 miles may wait see if they phone back I know citroen did once after offering a silly price.
