To be fair, I think that this kind of parking is pretty irresponsible, and destroys the land - but that's not the issue here. The thing of low ground clearance can be a problem. Several times up in Scotland I have hit the road when going over really bad potholes (at very low speeds still), and at one point I dented my wheel strut thing by hitting a concealed rock when I was forced off the road by an aggressive van driver. Also I've found that if you load the back with heavy stuff, you are no longer able to go over any speed humps without a slight scraping noise! How anyone copes once they've fitted lowering springs, I don't know! (was considering it for when the warrenty runs out, but I think I'll leave it for a while yet!) Guess the moral to this story is, use the car where intended - on the road!
