Ok here's hoping, I've had some extensive rewiring completed following a drastic short and burning out of some of the wiring loom, However I don't think my current problem is related. I was hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction. Car usually starts and runs no problem but occasionally and apparently at random it will not re-start (Happens when hot or cold) only way I can restart is to do a battery reset but even then I need to leave the battery disconnected for a good few minutes (I assume to clear a registered fault ) Whilst in this non starting mode I've checked the pump under the seat and can't hear it priming although there is 12v at the plug. Once the battery is reset (and I assume the fault cleared)it will start, Am I correct in thinking that this may suggest the pump may well be ok and that the fault lies elsewhere perhaps a faulty relay. If this makes sense can anyone tell me where and which relay is involved. Or even better suggest another suspect. (For info, recent new MAF and fuel filter fitted) Many thanks in advance

I had exactly the same problem with my 110 VTR (54 plate) I ended up replacing the "Heater Control Module" Citroen part no. 6441L2 @ £59.89 +vat This sorted the problem at the first attempt and it has stayed sorted for the last 3 weeks. btw module is located behind the carpet above the clutch foot rest plate (detachable piece of carpet) The module is held in by 2 torx screws and has 2 green multi plugs. (15 minutes max) Go on get it fixed now before you miss the rest of the summer !!!

My 54 VTR estate also has under seat storage,(Second hand to me) Does anyone know if the drawer is deep enough to put a cd changer in. I'm going to have to have a tour of my local scrappers and see if there's any about.

Thanks guys, I like the idea of not drilling holes through the firewall. The cable has quite a long length anyway but I should be able to get an extension from maplins. Thanks all round DAlex

As a last resort that's were it will have to go. The idea of the switch is that it has 3 settings (Off, Low/Medium boost and finally a pre-selectable Higher boost ) These settings have to be selected with the ignition off and the plan was to be able to just switch it over whenever I hitch up the caravan. Thanks for the suggestion DAlex

Many thanks Paul, do you mean top left as looking under the bonnet or the passenger side from the inside. I think you might be right with the suggestion of drilling a new hole, Would you happen to know if the fire wall in that area is a single or double skin. Cheers DAlex

Hi. I wonder if anyone can help, I've just fitted a diesel tuning box that is equipped with a dash switch to select one of 2 settings or to switch it off. My problem is that the cable for this switch is fitted with a jack plug (approx 8mm diameter) and i'm struggling to get it from the dash (next to traffic master switch) through to the tuning box located next to the brake fluid pot. I can't see any natural route. Has anyone run anything similar through the firewall and if so can you give me a hint. As for the box I've just completed a 500 mile round trip with the caravan on the back and so far i'm impressed there is now a definite eagerness that was lacking beforehand BTW the car is a 54 VTR estate (2.0 HDI) Any help would be appreciated. Cheers DAlex

Just thought I would post this for comment I was away for the weekend (2004 2.0 HDI 110 VTR Estate) when the dreaded Anti Pollution Fault message and engine management and service lights came on with no rev's (first time ever - for me anyway) Checked fuses and found No. 1 (engine bay) blown ( red 10 amp listed as reversing lights) Changed fuse and had full power back but lights stayed on, As the tank was pretty low i went to the garage for some fresh diesel and when restarted the lights were gone. Reversed back onto the camp-site and got the same message again with the fuse blown. Checked reversing sensor and found a dead short (easy fix and back to full power.) and this time it's stayed fixed !!!! Now what I'm struggling to understand is, why should a fuse controlling the reversing lights affect the fuel system. Anyone got any suggestions ??? DAlex

Hi Jim Who did your re-map for you and was your 2.0 a 110 to start with. Has this extra been confirmed by a rolling road or is it estimated? My brother got his 110 re-mapped to 135-140 ( that was their claim ???) and was very pleased. He towed a caravan and it effectively made for a gear difference when towing (5th on routes where he had to used 4th previously) and a much smoother drive altogether I'm hoping to get my 54-110 VTR estate before the towing season and am looking for as much info as possible beforehand Dalex

OK Found the installation notes, on connecting and activation of a Connects 2 interface unit. to a original factory fitted RDS CD / Audio unit (Clarion PU-2472B) As follows Sequence MUST be followed Ignition off Radio off and power lead disconnected Remove changer magazine Connect the interface to head unit loom and changer leads / connect power lead Ignition on / radio on Press CD button / press FM button Insert changer magazine Press CD button again - that's it. I had to do the whole thing twice before it recognised the changer. As for browsing folders your correct it just plays through but allows full scope of the re-motes to move up or down selected CD or scroll to next CD From memory the Connects 2 Interface cost £50 ish and apart from the problem with the random selection (mentioned above) I've got no complaints. Perhaps a 3rd install would even fix that small problem. Good luck DAlex

Hi folks I've fitted a Sony x-plod mp3 changer to the original head unit via a connects 2 adaptor in my '54 VTR Estate (no visit to dealer) There were a couple of issues Firstly the adaptor needs to be set-up in a certain sequence the shop were able to call a mate and write it down for me (could try and find it if it would help) Secondly I seem to have full use of all aspects of the re mote's and screen except that if you select random play for the CD changer then it won't go back to sequential play without disconnecting the power. Lastly like a lot of the older head units it will only display 99 tracks on each CD although it will play the whole content if left to continue beyond track 99 So all in all I'm happy with over 1000 tracks in the boot plus and normal CD up front. Hope this helps DAlex

Had the same problem when trying to fit a nokia kit, i emailed the tech guys at clarion and they advised that pin 1 on the connector block was the mute connection. (they were right)

Hi & welcome This is an easy fix, this function just needs re-activating With the ignition key turned to the first position press the button on the end of the light stalk until you hear a confirmation beep, that should be it done.

Hi all Now we are into the dark and mucky road time of the year I realise that I miss the headlight washers my previous car had. (headlights were washed with the windscreen as long as the headlights were on) Has anyone tried retro fitting headlight washers to a 54 plate estate, does anyone know if the wiring is in place and it's just a job of altering the bumper and fitting the spray heads and hoses. Any help or advise would be appreciated Dalex
