  1. Hi there I have a problem that I can not Diagnose I have been to X3 Mecanics all with diferent ideas, all expensive of course. The problem is the front left side of the car is bobbing up and down in time with the LHM pump going on, it go's up and then slowly lowers over 7 seconds then repeats on and on WHILST PARKED. Also whilst taking a corner the front left colapses then comes up after the corner. This dose not happen taking a left hand corner. SO.......... The first Mechanic (Citr**n) said it was my Regulator unit and would have to be replaced including all wiring costing me over 1000 quid. The Second (West***N) Said its a common problem called bobbing and was due to a faulty strut. This seams the most plausable to me as I have seen the blueprint for the strut and also would explain my previous problem of the return pipe bursting due to high presure LHM passing through it. The Third (Independant) said it was the front active anti roll ram. Who do I belive as I am not speding all the money to do all for obvious reasons Which one of them is buzzing glue?????? Please help I need advice and experiance A.S.A.P as I have the chance of getting a Front Strut this Friday and they are realy hard to get..
  2. Just back from the car doctors with my xantia the mechanic says that the ABS light is only comming on due to a new set of alloys being put on the car. As it has caused an error in the Activa suspension no ABS fault. Thank god for that
  3. Will have a look thanks for the help some man cheers
  4. Would the fact that I have just put alloys on the car have caused this to happen. Regards Lynne
  5. Thank god for that its only a sensor as when I turn the ignition off then bounce the rear end of the car up and down a few times then turn the ignition on it goes away. It only comes on again once I start the car up again but I am going to the garage with it on Monday so wish me luck. Thanks very much m8 owe you one.
  6. arrrhhh just getting the car sorted and now this Is the ABS Controled by the LHM accumulator of is it a totaly diferent system as I just had the accumulator sphere changed??? thanks for the quick reply

  9. Fixed Fixed and once again Fixed!!!! I diagnosed the problem thanks to the help from a Citeon Mechanic that used to train Citroen Mechanics all over the world but left 2 years ago to start his own buisness. All the car needed was a new Accumulator Sphere, LHM Change and Filter Change. This guy knows his stuff I made the Mechanic look like a total idiot today buy telling him what was wrong with the car. After him telling me I needed to spend 700 Pounds HA HA! Here is the address and telephone number for anyone in Scotland that needs help with his/her Citroen. Just looked under the bonnet the Accumulator Sphere has fluid around it and is OBVIOUSLY leaking and has been for some time and this so called mechanic has failed to spot it. No wonder pipes are bursting after tightening them all up the presure has been to much. The pump has been trying to compensate for the loss in presure in the system and has blown a pipe. IDIOT heads are going to roll. Honestly some people, trying to charge me in exsess of 700 Pounds for new shockers and a new pump. Never trust anyone including a dealer. Please tell me if all this could be true I want some back up from other Citroen owners and people who have had experiance of this. Thanks Lynne here is a picture of the leak. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g126/lynneandcrow/activaram1.jpg
  11. Its a hard thing to find, a good Citroen Specialist today. I had my Xantia Activa Turbo in at my local Citroen Dealer and they have totaly miss diagnosed the problem with my car. Infact Citroen didnt even have a clue as to what an Activa was! Left after being told the car was fine all Spheres were fine then pop! A pipe burst after all the seals to the rams were tightened. Had a read of this forum diagnosed the prob myself looked under the bonet for the Accumulator Sphere and noticed all the fluid leaking from around it. Totaly misses by a trained mechanic may I add. This forum and forums like it are a wealth of info on these cars best to read up here on all possibilitys then investigate them yourself. Then if all fails go to a Specialist with a good idea of what is wrong. Well this is my experiance anyway maby I am just a one off but all Citroen Mechanics seem to be to too young to be trained properly on Hydroactive Suspension's. Makes you think is it cheaper to train a younger mechanic and get rid of the more experianced ones. Big companys always trying to keep the costs down just be aware. Anyway rant over have a good read here as I said these forums are a wealth of information and experiance.
  12. I had my car in at Citroen Specialist that I am none to impresed with. As the front left was bobing up and down(its a 1997 2.0L Turbo Activa). I was told that maby I will need a new Hydrolic Pump possibly X2 new activa shock absorber'sand a LHM Filter all prety expensive stuff and was told "all the Spheres are fine" . Which I dont belive for a minuete as this sounds like the acuumulator sphere is on its last legs and I am going to replace it no matter what they say. So the mechanic tightened up all the conections in the Hydrolics and sent me on my way everything was great for 1/2 an hour. Then I heard a pop under breaking. I thought nothing of it at the time as the car was just out of the garrage. Then yesterday I noticed a green puddle under the car on closser inspection I found that the return pipe from the front pass side shocker has now "burst" and is leaking prety severly. Why did this happen and is there any way to fix it temperary as the garage in question cannot fit me in until Tuesday and I am running out of Lepricon juce rapidly. I have already toped up over 1/2 a bottle in to the LHM resivoir. Please any suggestions why this happend and a souloution please. Thanks Lynne EDITED!!!!\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/added 12:25 GMT Realy angry now! 13. Will a 406 SRI dump valve work on my Activa? I am finding it hard to locate a dump valve for my activa. The reason I am fitting a dumper is that I am going to upgrade my turbo and run it up to 2 BAR. Please help
  14. Yes instructions I have a slider controler for High and Low ride and also normal. There are two other buttons I do not understand which are conected to the activa suspension. Would just love to disable it and have a normal ride instead of all this going around a corner with no feeling of roll its very confusing and gives you a felling of lack of control.
  15. Hi there I have just purchased a Citroen Xantia 2.0 Turbo and I am looking for instructions for the suspension. Please help
