  1. Hello all The Alternator has developed a fault on my 2.2 HDI SX (2001), and will not charge the battery. Does anyone have a guide or set of instructions on how to remove from the car? I can obtain a service kit to repair the Alternator just cannot work out the best way to remove from the car! Thanks

  3. rfk thanks :( very much It worked :D Now just got to find out if it's is just the battery, the alternater or both! Battery has held the charge overnight and the voltmeter on the dash board displays the needle in the middle until the engine is started then it drops to the first red mark on the left. How do you gain access to the alternater to change or is it time to hand it over to a garage? Thanks
  4. Hi KFK Did that however went to turn over the engine and it was very slow following diplayed on screen before the battery when completely flat..... ESP/ASR not functioning, ABS fault, Airbag Fault and Passenger Airbag deactivated! nb as its dark headlights came on and went dim when key turned. Could it just be that my battery has given up rather than the alternator? Thanks for the responce, will see if the battery will take a charge in the morning.
  5. I have a 2001 2.2SX Estate The following message has appeared on the display 'Battery Charge Fault' and also the voltmeter needle is on the left hand red zone. After driving for a few more miles the following error messages are also displayed :( ABS Fault Airbag Fault ESF fault Battery Charge fault I assume the alternater has given up! but my problem is I disconnected the battery reconnected and now the unit displays 'Immobiliser fault' and the engine will not start. Any suggestions on how to de-activate the immobiliser? Thanks
