  1. Thanks guys, I knew i could rely on you for quality responses!! Is the fixing a bolted flange, or yer actual nylock nut?(behind the wheel!!!) Don.
  2. 4 years ago, I had my cruise contol switch replaced by my local citroen dealer. This, I believe has to have the steering wheel "loosened or removed" 'because of the airbag etc.???? Two days ago (15th). it failed its MOT on this one thing. I booked it in to the dealer that fixed the switch. I have to say that their explanation was " its only a loose steering wheel, and we will fix it for you at a cost of £47.00 all in". :) When I pointed out it was last removed by them 4 years ago (me looking for 'sympathy' etc!) they mentioned that it "was 4 whole years since the work was done, and it had passed three MOT's"! I have had many cars since I passed my test. (1967) and I can say that i have NEVER ever experienced a loose steering wheel....EVER! Has any else???? Don. :(
  3. My car is a 1.4hdi16v with 115k on the clock. Having just paid out £130 for the new nsf spring, I now have had to replace the n/s/rear as well. £74, of my hard earned cash! (no rear recall?) Has anyone else had this happen? I see and hear loads about all makes having spring problems. My 'man' says seeyou in another 6 weeks....i've got plenty sprins in now, I can almost do them while you wait!!! Now my question is........ ......was there a bad batch of spring wire production at the turn of the century? THIS MUST BE COSTING US MOTORIST MILLIONS, not to mention the garages/car makers. Who does Citroen reclaim the money from? Any one any ideas?? Don
  4. I bought an FSH 81,000 miles '02 plate 1.4 hdi 16v C3 4 years ago for £3,600. It was 2yrs 11 mnths old and required an MOT. It was such a good car I bought it as seen, drove it home from Essex, to Scarborough, MOT'd it (no problem then and since) And all I do is put Diesel in and have it serviced by my local non franchised Citroen garage. This is my 6th Citroen since 1996, and I can only say that they have all "had their moments". So, go on and give it a go! They all drive brilliantly and are good cars. Mine has now done 134k, (still FSH) and the issues I have had are a "flat spot" when accelerating from gear to gear, and a front spring broke last week (£165 all found). Other than that, I look forward to zero road tax next year I believe, and £20 per year 'till 2012. Happy driving! Don

    C3 Hdi 16v

First post on this (Brilliant)site! I have an August 02 plate C3 HDI 16v Exclusive (with FSH) and it's done 101,000 miles (correct) It has the Ford/Delco EMS fitted. My local non franchised dealer cannot tell me why i have a power loss in 4th or top whilst "cruising" or "driving" up my local hills! This occurs for 3 or 4 seconds resulting in fuel starvation like symptoms, losing rpm from 2300 down to 1900-2000 rpm, at which time it picks up and carries on as if nothing has happened,(no fault light OR code or smoke either) My dealer says possible precursor to Turbo failure. What do you think?? Cheers, Don.
