Hiya I know the fun you must be having....... I've fitted central locking to my AX I find the best (and only way if you want the thing to continue to work) is to drop the door lock out so it is inside the door and then you should be able to get at everything you will need. I fitted mine 2 months ago and it is still working. A few tips though, make sure you set the rods at the right height because if u set them in the wrong place you wont be able to lock the door (been there, done that) and also once u are happy that the settings are correct apply some araldite to secure the rods together because otherwise they will slip off after a short time.
