Hello, Many thanks for the only reply. This is how I changed my n/s strut top mounting and bearing. [1]Undo the three bolts on top of the strut top housing which are under the fascia in the cab [2}Put an axle stand under the front jacking point on the side which you are working on. [3]Use a jack under the front hub housing to slightly raise the strut. [4]Remove the 4 bolts which hold the strut mounting onto the hub carrier . [5]lower the jack and remove the strut. [6]With the strut mounting plate held securely in a vice, compress the coil spring and remove the nyloc nut which holds the mounting plate. [7]Fit a new strut bearing and fit the new strut mounting plate. Also replace the nyloc nut and tighten fully. [8]Release the coil spring tension and position the strut into the strut top body well and refit the strut lower mounting onto the axle carrier with 4 bolts. [9]Jack up the strut slowly ensuring that the 2 locating pins register into the appropriate holes in the strut top body well. [10]Refit the 3 mounting bolts and tighten securely. [11]Check that the lower strut 4 mounting bots are tight and refit any internal panels which you removed inside the cab. [12]Refit the roadwheel and tighten the mounting nuts securely. [13]Jack up the van with a trolley jack and remove the axle stand from the front jacking point, lower jack and remove. [14]Make sure that you have left no parts or nuts behind. Job done, well satisfied. Takes about 1.5hours start to finish, depending upon your skill level.
