Thank you, how do 'problems' manifest themselves? & is there a fix?

Mine was recently lifted by the garage with all 4 wheels off the ground without first raising the suspension. Do I assume that this also runs the same risk? If so should the engine be kept running when the car is either jacked up or on a lift?
