  1. Can anyone out there help me with this strange problem? I used the air con recently on a warm afternoon (very rare) and now I can't turn it off ! Obviously I've tried the switch which pops out and the green light goes out but still the air con runs ! I've even pulled the cable block from the back of the switch and still it runs ! All I want to do is disable the air con....it is England and its september in 2 days....but I can't.I've looked in the handbook for a fuse but one is not mentioned,so can anyone make a suggestion? Many thanks,57steevo
  2. Thanks Mr Randombloke first of all sorry I took so long to reply but have been away(I'm not not into IT on the move, just got a pc at home).Anyway, success!I figured the hazard switch must have a permenant live so I split the cable and ran one to the stereo.Works a treat.Only difference is need to turn stereo on and off(works without ignition key)but thats trivial. No need for security codes, bass, treble, fade settings all good and radio station presets are fine.Big thanks again Steevo
  3. Can anyone offer a suggestion to my problem.I've just replaced my old 1998 xantia with a newer 2000 HDI.I've swopped the radio/cassette from the old to the new as new came with a poor high street CD player and I only really listen to radio.(the old original citroen radio/cassette has a cracking tuner). It all fits snug and tidy and the electrical connections fit (exept the steering wheel controls but thats less important) but every time the key is turned I have to imput the security code and that means all presets and settings are lost. Any advice would be gratefully recieved cheers,Steevo
  4. No joy with the electric windows so took the brutal option of converting to manual winders.I've got a ready supply of spare parts at the moment as the xantia I've just bought is to replace my old '98 LX turbo diesel which finally expired 2 weeks ago after many years loyal service. The 'new' one is X reg,HDI SX which has 120,000 miles on clock but has lots of service history so I'm hoping has plenty of life left.It appears the last owner was a bit uncaring..leaving problems like the rear windows and the seats which are shabby. So I've been busy swapping stuff from the old one.New one seems mechanically sound (will hold breath for a few weeks and hope no faults appear) and bodywork is very good(few minor dings and scratches but sound). So far so good,Ive also swapped tyres which were much better on old car.Suspension seems fine but I'm toying with idea of removing svheres from old car before goes to scrap man as ony 18 months old, just in case but not sure yet. Thanks for your imput Stui, really appreciated cheers,Steevo
