  1. Many thanks for the advice and tips. Will have a go at replacing them.any problems, and it'll be the garage.i've never done glow plugs before so I'm up for the challenge.
  2. I ahve 2 Citroens,a C5 2.0 petrol and a 1.9 diesel berlingo multispace forte. The berlingo needs the glow plugs replacing but I have never done them before(sparks plugs no problem), as i have not had a diesel before.I don't want to do any damage but want to replace them myself. Can someone tell me what I need to do please?.Many thanks.
  3. I own a C5 estate.2.0 hpi exclusive. It was my dads who recently lost his battle with cancer. He only wanted £500.00 for it.It is an 02 .The engine is 148bhp.My dad paid £800.00 for it 18 months ago, and had spent over £600.00 on parts/service.I have receipts for over £2k from previous owners.I recently had to replace the radiator fan, EGr valve, spark plugs, air filter, and had an engine anti pollution error too.I have spent £500.00 my self.I was recommended to use 97 octane fuel, as this would prevent filters clogging, and eliminate the engine anti pollution problem.I have been using high octane for around 2 months now and the car runs smooth.I did have a problem with performance and sluggishness.I put BG44K in the fuel tank, ran it to near empty, then filled up again. It now performs like a racing car.I think that if you use high octane fuel as recommended by Citroen, and put a can of BG44k (around £12-£18 a can on ebay),in your fuel tank, then you shouldn't have any problems.
  4. I have a Citroen Berlingo on a 52 plate. It is a 1.9 diesel.I have a smelling problem. When ever the heater is switched on there is a strong smell of old, burning oil.The engine has been steam cleaned, the rocker cover seal has been replaced, and yet the smell is still there. It fades or sometimes even goes after about 15 minutes. However, it is a horrible smell to put up with for the first 15 minutes or so when the heater is switched on.Any ideas what the problem could be, and how to solve it?.Many thanks in advance.

  6. I recently acquired a Citroen C5 estate on an 02 plate from my step father. It has loads of history.Recently, my step father encountered the "service" light continually on even though he had the car serviced a few weeks earlier. He also had "Air bag faulty" permanently on.Therefore he took the car to the usual garage. It was put on the diagnostic machine and showed no faults. He was told by the mechanic that the computer starts playing up after 10 years or so and that the lights it lights up are nothing to be worried about.I have just had the "Engine anti pollution fault" message come up on the dashboard computer and also the engine management light is lit up in amber. Is this another computer blip to be ignored or does it mean something more serious like a filter needs cleaning, or a sensor needs resetting? Any help and how i can do it myself rather than take it to a garage will be helpful. And can I reset the airbag fault and the service fault??
