  1. The name of the breakdown company was First Call GB Ltd. I understood that it was impossible for them to fix it at the road side. But to refuse to take me to the nearest garage was just to much!! The wheel bolt was not to tight. It was just that one of the rods which formed part of the key twisted out of shape while I was putting pressure on the bolt to undo it. Taught me a lesson next time I join a breakdown service provider.
  2. Had a problem recently with my breakdown service provider which refused to rescue me on the M25 when I had a puncture and found I could not undo my locking wheelnuts due to a twisted rod on the key part which happened while working on the punctured wheel. They stated that locking wheelnuts were not in there policy and they would not rescue me. They said I should have read the small print about what was covered! I was left to negociate a price with an independant breakdown garage to collect me and drop me off at a garage. Antbody else heard of this problem before?
  3. When I asked the top mechanic how they managed the job. I was told that the Undershield was taken off but it was already broken and their technician had tried to fixed it as best he could without telling anyone!!!!! So they said it was an accident waiting to happen!!! They did however give me a price for replacing it. You can imagine my reply.
  4. Can anyone help with a problem I've encounted with a Local Peugeot dealer who changed the timing belt on my C5 2002 model. The question is do you have to remove the undershield as part of the process along with the right hand front plastic wheel guard in order to allow work to replace the Timing Belt? My Haynes C5 manuel says you do. The peugeot dealer says you don't. I ask this because the tining belt was changed by this dealer and on taking a long distance motorway drive three days later. The front of the undershield fell down onto the road furface and broke off. Your knowledge would be most appriciated. hobbsy
  5. I took the car to Halfords to have a new bulb fitted and was told that they now have a stop recommendation to all their parts staff on fitting to the C5. Reason given was that it was to complicated to do given the time period they would normally allow!!
  6. I’ve just tried something with my C 5 after having both back doors locked from the outside. I engaged the child lock on both and went through a system of opening and shutting the doors from outside. which seems to have worked. Although I'm expecting the problem back again at some stage
