  1. Folks. Just wondered if anyone might be able to shed some light on this problem. My Xantia Sensation 1.8 16v petrol has an intermittent problem with the tickover either dropping out & stalling, or going into a surge. I had a diagnostic done which pointed to a Map Sensor which was replaced. Things seemed to improve for a week or so, then the problem came back. Any ideas. Also as a side note, I'm curious as to the value of my Xantia as I plan to sell it soon 1999 T 10 months mot in good - ex cond
  2. My 1999 Xantia Sensation's heater has just packed up which is a pain at this time of year. The problem seems intermittent, in that it comes on warm for about 5-10 mins then goes cold again. Also the Tick over seems to be going up & down. Sometimes it won't idle. It just stalls. Other times it can over rev. Any info would be much appreciated asap before I push it into the nearest quarry :(
  3. Had clutch cable & plastic clip changed a year or so back so clutch is fairly light & smooth, but still experiencing stiff/Clunky gear change. The gears don't crunch, but you have to be precise with the gear stick for them to operate properly. The gear shift has a gritty, almost un-lubricated sound/feel, but there was gear oil present on the last check. Maybe linkeage problems ? Any ideas folks ?
  4. Just wondering if anyone might be able to roughly value my 1999 T Xantia Hatchback Sensation. Around 90,000 miles. Work done in last year or so... New complete exhaust New clutch cable & clip. some new tyres New powered steering LHM pipe just fitted MOT until May 2010 VG - EX Cond Hoping to sell in next 2-3 months & want idea of what to ask. Cheers .
  5. Any advice folks ? Could do with some by tomorrow. that's when I'm having the clutch cable fitted.
  6. I too get the delayed breaking after starting up & when you're not expecting it, it takes you by surprise . Is this a top up job or a new sphere ?
  7. I have a 1999 Xantia Sensation which has done 75,000 & it's had a stiff clutch for some time now. It got to the point where the pedal was clicking as I pressed it down but that's now stopped. More worryingly, in the last 3 weeks or so the gear change has become much more stiff & clunky. I have to really push the gearstick to get it in 1st & 2nd although it seems to ease off intermitently then come back again. I have a friend who works on my cars & his advice is to try replacing the clutch cable first & see if that improves matters. What I want to avoid though is spending large amounts of money on a car of this age as I have also recently had a replacement exhaust fitted. Any advice would be much appreciated
