  1. I had to buy one at the weekend from my local factors less than £8 I think. Alan...
  2. Don't know these specifically although I must have undone mine when I changed my spring. They are not a hard job to do normally if your replacing them, you sometimes have to take them off with an angry grinder. They have a ball joint type knuckle on them with a lock nut, but to stop the thread moving you normally have to put a small allen key in the end which rounds off. Hope thats of help. Alan...
  3. Once again thanks, checked for the switch & it's there. They have never done this at the local place, over on the C5 section they mention Lincoln Citroen have done a few. Lincoln's only 35 miles away so it might be worth fitting it & then taking a run over one day. Alan...
  4. Been to the local Citroen dealer yesterday, stalk is older type £57+vat & they want to charge 1.5 hours @ £60 ph+vat or if I fit the stalk myself (either new or S/H) they reckon only 0.5 hours to reprogram the BSI. Alan...
  5. Once again thanks, not getting email notifications even though it's switched on & a correct address, but never mind. Can this stalk come off any Citroen from what I've seen they all look the same, going dark so will look for the switch in the morning, again if there is not one there can that be taken off another Citroen & fitted, quite a few of the Picasso's & C5's have cruise control. Alan...
  6. On the same type of note, is it possible to add an intercooler to a 90bhp model to increase the bhp & what else would be needed. Alan...
  7. Sorry fr the delay in replying, didn't get an email to say you'd replied. My radio unit controls are on a stalk on the right of the steering wheel. Alan...
  8. Was cruise control ever fitted to any Berlingo's would like it on my 2.0 Hdi & a retrofit would probably be easiest. If not has anybody fitted an aftermarket one with success. Alan...
  9. Guys thanks for your help, took the speedo out earlier & swapped over the stepper motor from the tacho to the speedo, it's now working again. I would like to get the tacho working again, not greatly important but anyone know if they are available & if so who from (stepper motor that is). Alan...
  10. Not really too worried about that. more concerned that I can't work out how to get it out.
  11. I maybe wrong but I suspect that the car has only been driven with a single occupant i.e. the driver. The offside shock absorber has freed itself up whereas the nearside hasn't. If you are that worried about it, put it in writing to the main dealer so that it is on file. But I suspect that if you do quite a bit of running 2 or more up then it will even up, again assuming if you carry a 3rd person you sit them on the nearside. Alan...
  12. I don't understand this comment at all, but it is quite common for a drivers side of a car to be slightly lower than the passenger side. Most cars are only driven with a driver so the springs on that side get more use, also most roads are cambered to the middle again putting more pressure on the drivers side. Saying that I'm surprised a car with only 6k on the clock is showing such symptoms. Before you measured the 3mm did you check the tyre pressures? If they were only a few lbs different that could make up most of it. Alan..
  13. Well my speedometer stopped working, was fine when I stopped the car Wednesday, got in the car Thursday nothing. The odometer is still clocking up so I asuume it must be the head. Disconnected the battery for about a hour, but still no joy. Does anyone know how to get the cluster out of the dashboard, as it looks like it will have to be replaced, with a 2nd hand one, not paying £220. Alan..
  14. Which car did the display come from a SX? Was it also a '51 plated car it came out of. Alan...
  15. Don't actually know anything about this so this is not a reccomendation, I put C5 CD changer into Google & this was the first hit. http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product...?partno=ACTS003 Alan....
  16. Total fallacy, an engine cannot become 'addicted' to it, it's an inanimate object therefore incapable of being addicted. Granted excessive use will wash the bores over an very long extended time, but that is not what I was suggesting. I was suggsting uses it as a diagnostic aid, if the engine will run under the starter fluid, but not start, then the problem is likely to be fuel related. If the engine actually starts under starter fluid the the problem is the glowplugs or the circuit. Alan...
  17. My old Xantia used to eat cables, had to replace each one bi-yearly due to the steering on them, but if you've checked them then it's probably the mechanism that needs a bit of grease. Alan..
  18. You could try some Surestart or one of the genric ones (think Halfords do their own) turn the engine over whilst spraying into the air inatke. If it runs on this then it's a fuel problem for sure. Alan.. p.s. You will need to have the glowplugs back in for this but don't use them
  19. The wires on my 52 plate 2.0l HDI were also numbered 290 Offside Indicator 289 Nearside Indicator 264 Offside Side Light 263 Nearside Side Light 2101 Brake Light on Nearside (I used this one) 2100 Brake Light on Offside Didn't do Fog as I as never ever use them Alan..
  20. There is no paperwork to do as long as you don't use more than 2500 litres a year, you just save your receeipts. Alan...
  21. Auto?? Why do you think it's an auto? It's a manual. As to economy I'm well impressed, bought the car on the 28th October & at the end of the road the light came on. Called in at Tesco's & put £50 of diesel in, took the needle to just over 3/4 full. Did 380 miles in first week & went back yo same Tesco & could only get £48 in the tank it was full to the brim. Been back tonight after 420 miles & only managed to get £36.50 to fill it right up to the top again, works out around 52 to the gallon. Coming from a Toyota Surf that only did 23 to the gallon this is a big difference. Alan...
  22. I had this, my cigarette lighter wouln't power sat nav etc. found out it was my sat nav 12v supply plug that wasn't long enough to go down into the cigerette lighter socket. HTH Alan...
  23. Thanks for that will try it tomorrow, not sure it can be the motor as if I press the plipper, get in lock bu dashboard switch, unlock by same switch the door will open from the outside then. Sorted the front cigarette lighter, it was just dirty, BUT still can't use it for sat nav as the unit isn't long enough to go down into it & make contact. silly design Alan...
  24. You could buy one of these Machinemart to get to sump plug you have to take off a cover from under the engine. Never done it there is a post about it somewhere but i think it's a pig of a job. Alan,,,
  25. Yep my 51 C5 does as well, just wondered if the OP had read the manual & thought when they mentioned a 'ping' in reverse he thought they meant reversing sensors & not just notification he was in reverse if you see what I mean. Alan,,,
