  1. Hello All I recently changed the front pads on my C5 2.0HDi - the result is that I have to pump the pedal- even after letting the new pads bed in for 300 miles now.I didn't undo the caliper bleed nipples before winding the pistons back - was that a mistake? I am going to bleed the brakes to see if that sorts it , although I'm not sure what I could have done to affect the hydraulic circuit- but worth a go! Before I set to it , does anyone know if silicone fluid is OK for these cars. I've used it in my ZX and old Renaults to good effect but I've heard not every car likes the stuff. Cheers
  2. Thanks for that I was trusting the handbook! I did find one of the small 15 A fuses blown- certainly not the the one the handbook says- I won't trust that again. I have changed the fuse and things are OK now. I must have put something drawing too much current into the accessory socket to make it blow. Thanks again for your help. Graeme
  3. Does anyone know what this could be? My C5 110 HDi estate has been very good but has had the odd electrical glitch- opening tailgate window failure, door lock solenoid- the usual C5 faults. The latest is that all the 3 power sockets are dead ( curiously the cigar lighter still works as a cigar lighter but won't power an accessory plugged in to it!) . Also the switch in the boot to adjust the loading height is dead. THe fuses are all OK and the other bits on the same circuit like the front window motors are OK. I've tried disconnecting the battery and touching the disconnected cables together as a sort of re-set but still no joy. I don't know if the socket problem and the switch issue are linked but I don't know what to look for next. Has anyone met this sort of thing with a C5 before.
