  1. Well, not only a new boy, but first thread here; better make it good! About to change head gasket, so looking for someone who's done this on a 1.4 injection. At 115,000 miles, is it likely that I'll need to have the head right out of the car to clean off the mating face? Or, do they come apart cleanly - thus allowing me to leave the inlet side, water hoses, ignition and exhaust manifold on. Raise the head a couple of inches, slip the gasket in and whack it back on? Also, changing cam belt and camshaft end seal at the same time. Tensioner idler is relatively new... anything else I ought to do while I'm in there? I'll take a look at valve seats - if they're in need of attention , obviously it's head strip time - hope not. Look forward to your advice. John
