Hi folks, I'm on the path to becoming a racing driver, I've just received my test date (14th feb of all days) and I've been on the search for a decent track use car. I was looking at the following options - MG Midget - Citroen AX GT - Vauxhall Vectra SuperTouring 200 Now before you laugh at the choices there was meaning behind the three. The MG is a fast and responsive classic racer, hardly any limitations on what you can do before the FIA/MSA step in. I was recommended this car by a few historics drivers in this years HGTCC The AX is a likely chance, Never really looked at one before but seems to be a boy racer favourite, so why not lol. The Vectra was my favourite option as I own a vectra anyway. Many a time has it managed to put a smile on my face against saxo's, Ax's, 106's etc.. Not in the scooby league just yet though. and as i own one i know a fair bit about them.. ... so, i found a H' Plate AX GT in Triumph White. done 138,000 miles and has a road rally/12 car set up. roll cage, spots, all the underbody guards etc and it has an RAC competition logbook. My questions now are. - Is it worth £700, it's a bit rusty and has seen better days but it's still a fab runner and corners like a dream. - second. Where can i get insurance on it? I'm 20 and have had a licence for a year but i'm still in my first year of being on the road. thus no, no claims yet. any recommendations? finally, Any engine modifications worth doing to hit the 100bhp figure?
