  1. Bump ! It's may have been 2 years ago that I first asked this, but I just wondered whether anyone has done this yet ?
  2. OK, so perhaps my previous request for a fitting guide was overly optimistic, but hopefully someone can help me with this one ;) I'm trying to work out how the wiring from the front fog lamps on a C3 is connected. The lamps themselves have yellow plastic plug connectors which then joins to a black sheathed bundle containing three wires: red, light green/yellow, and a dark green/yellow earth. If anyone is feeling generous enough to have a look under their front bumper and see where that black bundled cable goes, I'd be really grateful. Thanks, Si
  3. Can anyone help me to source a set of instructions for retro-fitting front fog lamps to a C3 ? I've got all the wiring and mounting hardware (the full Anti-Brouillard kit from Citroen), but didn't get the instructions and just want to check where it all goes ! In a Haynes manual perhaps ? Anyone care to check for me ? Cheers, HF
  4. Anyone confirm whether the C3 has ISOFIX mountings for baby/child seats ? (specifically, on an '03 plate C3 Desire) Thanks, HF
  5. Parked our '03 plate C3 at home, got out and tried to lock the car with the remote. No response. Checked all the doors and boot were shut, which they were, and tried again. Still nothing. Got second set of keys, thinking it might be battery failure, tried with the other remote, nothing. Tried locking the driver's door with the key, which worked, but all the other doors were still unlocked. Eventually turned the ignition back on and found that the "child lock" button was illuminated. Turned it off, then turned the ignition off as well. Tried again to lock remotely, and hey presto, the central locking was back in business. The owner's manual is pretty bad, as there is no real explanation of this side effect. Our car has the X12 ECU upgrade, not sure whether that's relevant or not, but I see there is another thread in this section about the car "remembering" the child lock state. If you turn the ignition off while the child locks are on, the remote central locking does not seem to function. HF
  6. Had a go at changing the air filter on our C3 over Christmas...having bought a K&N replacement. Once again, Citroen demonstrate their ability to make access in the engine bay as difficult as possible. The airbox is sealed with 5 screws, 3 of which are so far back that you can't get at them with a normal Phillips screwdriver. In then end, I had to use a "stubby" screwdriver, and scrabble about at the back of the engine. 30 mins of hard work, and the job was done. If anyone's interested in doing the same, K&N part number 33-2844 is a direct replacement and seems to help the engine breathe a bit better at m'way speeds. HF
  7. Thought I'd post a follow up, seeing as how there is so much interest :D Our C3 went in to the dealer yesterday as planned, and about 6 hours later they phoned to say the work was done. The actual job sheet shows that they used a total of 1.3 hours labour. When I collected the car, they had done the suspension cup recall (ref: XWJ) and ALSO downloaded an update to the car's ECU. Reason unknown, but the recall reference is "X12". HF
  8. It's certainly tricky - I've just tried this morning to replace the main beam (H1) bulbs on our C3. Driver's side was OK, but I found I had to remove the battery shroud to get at the passenger side. Then placed a large torch above the battery to light the space below. Even so, it was pretty tough, managed to put several dents in my left hand. It doesn't help that there's a very tightly fixed cable running past the back of that lamp unit. Best tip I can give - buy bulbs from Halfords and let their trained monkeys do the fitting for a couple of quid extra... HF
  9. Just discovered that our newly-acquired C3 has the suspension spring recall, so it's going into local dealer this week.
  10. Excellent stuff, thanks Ian B)
  11. Can anyone point me to a list of recalls/service campaigns that Citroen have issued for the C3 since its launch ? Thanks, HF
  12. Thanks - so is that the same as your C4, for example ?
  13. No-one ? B)
  14. Hi folks, new to this board, just about to take delivery of a C3 (1.4 Desire) for the better half. First things first, I want to put some Citroen alloy wheels on it (nothing aftermarket). Can someone clarify for me what fitment I need ? For example, does the C3 share a bolt pattern with other models (C2, Saxo, C4 etc.) ? Not looking to put big rims on, just gotta lose the steelies ! Any advice appreciated. Thanks B) HF
