  1. Here you go....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKH2acql9yc
  2. SCRAP THE BLIDDY THING!!!!!!! Seriously mate........I spat my coffee over my keypad when I read your post.....LMFAO I am getting intrigued by the strange things these cars do!!!!!!!!! As I walk to mine in the morning I ask myself what it'll show up today!!!!!!!!!!
  3. IT is a 1.9 Colin and no, I don't use the accelerator on 'start up'. Thank you yet again for uploading..........I'm awaiting delivery of a manual to assist me on getting "its" act together. Not long until the weekend and the tinkering begins.............but I get the feeling I won't be "happy"!!!
  4. Hmmmmmm........where could I get a Citroen diagnostic check done on "it" ??? It will only start in the morning if I keep the key turned on for around 20 seconds or so and then it runs really rough with loadsa white smoke until its warm......no smoke at all by the time it's haring along the M8 on my way to work though! Strange beast.
  5. I bought the accumulator sphere thingymajig removal tool but it's from the same guy (who is very helpful) and he assures me that it is more than up to the job for removing the corner spheres. I have to use a 1/2" ratchet with it. Colin.......did you get my email? Cat n Fiddle ????
  6. Thanks for sharing Colin.
  7.
  8. Thanks, I now have both ends of the car rising and falling after doing as you said........although it can sometimes be a wee bit temperamental !!! Fingers crossed, it'll be better once it has 4 new corner spheres and Hydraflush in the system. Maybe it'll end up a "She" once it's running the way it should !!! I have always reffered to cars I like as "She" !!! But for now it's definately an "It" !!!!!!!! ; - (
  9. First of all....thanks Colin, I went to the guy in Ibrox you told me about. Over 500 quid to replace the 4 corner spheres, fan belt/pulley kit and cambelt. Wayyyyyyyyy too much for my budget at this time of year though I will get him to do the belts very soon as I have not the knowledge to even attempt the job myself. I am gonna attempt the the spheres myself next week. I've been busy printing off snippets of information from here and the GSF forum............I've bought a sphere removal tool from ebay and just awaiting the Haynes manual too. I'm not that confident about doing the job (hence the reason I'm doing it during my festive break from work!!! Two weeks to get it back on the road!!!) but I'm gonna give it my best shot. Can anyone of you guys tell me how much Hydraflush I'll need as I'm going to drain all the LHM fluid and clean the filters I've heard about too. I now know that the guy I bought the car from just did not maintain it properly.........I shoulda guessed as much as I've known him for nearly a year now and......................... ....anyway guys, a wee bit of help please. Are the wheels better to be up on ramps rather than just hanging (with the chassis supported on axle stands)? I do get the feeling that I aint ever gonna buy a Hydrolastic car again...........well, we'll see how I get on with this one. Thanks for any input. Willie
  10. JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZUS!!!!!!!!! That's fookin' expensive mate!!!!!!! We really do get ripped off with fuel prices in the UK no matter what part though. Do you know a guy called "Wizzy" Scott from up there? A biker.
  11. Yeah, Colin knows his Xantias!!!!!! I only wish he stayed near Glasgow!!!!!!!!.........my new (to me) car looks like it's going to cost me a small fortune in repairs  ps, I too picked up an Ebay bargain ----- a genuine Citroen N/S/R foglamp (brand new) for £15
  12. LOL...........no, buy a Garmin!!!!!!!
  13. It certainly has helped!!! Thank you again. The car only seems to rise and drop at the front. When I put the lever fully forward (to drop it) it only drops at the front! When I pull the lever right back (to the high setting) it is only the front that come up. Does this sound like the spheres guys???
  14. Thank you for your reply mate.
  15. Hello fellow Xantia owners!!! My name's Willie and have recently purchased a 1996 (P) Xantia SX TD. I bought the car from a workmate who really didn't use the vehicle much at all as he had a works vehicle that he favoured due to free running costs etc. The car is pretty clean and shows only 76,000 miles. Can any of you guys tell me if it's a Mk.1 or a Mk.2...........it has the chevron badge on the front grill. I do think the suspension will have to have some work done as it's a rather bouncy ride and not at all the comfiest of cars I've driven!!! Can anyone recommend a reputable garage in Glasgow or surrounding area that I could trust? Thank you Willie
