I have a 2000 W HDi Exclusive with the same problem, I have been told by Citroen garage it is the dashboard computer that is faulty. 350pound part + complete dashboard removal. The car has only 50,000 miles and has been in my family since new but is now proabably only worth 1.2k or so at most. I suspect I will need to scrap it as the cost of repair is more than value of car! Boo hoo.
