Im fairly sure there is no air locks, as there is no air coming out of the bleeding valve when i filled the cooling system up, only liquid

Hi I drive a 2003 Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDi. The engine started overheating and I assumed that the thermostat was faulty because the top hose were cooler than the bottom hose and i replaced it. But it is still overheating. I then flushed the radiator as well as the engine but the problem still persists. There is no leaks. Any advice?
