Mines a 2year old 1.9 diesel (bought recently with 110,000 miles). Its my first diesel motor and I'm impressed. Its not particularly fast and takes a while to run up through the gears, but if you adapt you driving style to stay in the higher gears it wafts along on the torque really well. It uses bu**er all fuel and they run for ever if the oil is changed regularly.

Hello all. Good to see an increasing interest in this wonderful vehicle. I have recently fitted a plywood floor (I am renovating a house and carry loads of stuff) which is far better than scuffing the standard plastic mat I used 8mm ply fixed with coach bolts. There are already threaded holes in the floor. The whole job took about an hour. Because of the gap under the rear seats, the ply can cover the whole load area with cut outs for the seat feet and fixing points. I have also fitted remote central locking. Mine is one of the year 2000 5 door models without it fitted (c-l is essential on a vehicle like this). I can supply advice on this (big) job if required.
