i have had another look at the radio but the only id.is the numbers i quoted, all the other info just tells you it is set up for the uk.
looking at other citroens they mainly seem to have blauphunkt and this is the original factory fitted radio,so would it be worth trying the codes for that make!!
thanks.
old lager.
hello sadly blauphunkt have to be decoded while conected to a decoder via the dump as its know, and can not be done via the serial numbers, sorry my friend itsa going to be a trip to the audio center for you,
there is another way, have a look at your reg-plates and see if the tel-number for the dealer who sold it is on there, give them a ring with your chassi number and reg they may still have it backed up on computer,
we some times have to do this when we get cars in the garage thats had a flat batt and lost the radio codes, saves us some time, some times

guy if there both tds check your engine oil, if there is to much engine oil in your engine this can cause the engine to rev on its own as it will be running on the engine oil though the turbo

Hi Guys,
I recently boosted my 2000 hdi from another car. I didn't do it properly I didn't earth the negitive cable in an engine earth point, I put it on the negitive lug of the battery. Anyway from then I have lost lights from my dahboard, front and rear fog lights and rear tail lights, all the other lights are fine.
I am pretty sure I have no blown fuses in the drivers fuse box or the engine compartment fuse box. Has anyone any ideas what the single point of failure might be? Is there another fuse box I am missing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Charlie
these faults could be down to a number of things, this is one of them jobs thats best left to your garage, and then they will tell you to see an auto electrition, there are just to many thing that can cause this sort of fault,
sounds to me like you have tried all the fuses so now its time to start tracing the wires back and checking for brakes in them, and with out the proper gear its going to be like looking for rocking horse muck,

Hello all, can somebody help ?!! I have been having trouble with my 2.0 ltr hdi (s reg) regarding the engine management light. when the engine is cold (and particularly on cold mornings) after engaging first gear and releasing the clutch a faint "ticking"noise can be heard for a couple of seconds, then it will stutter whilst driving along, the warning light appears and then the engine completely cuts out. fire her up again, wait for the warning light to go out and off i go ,no problems after that. This can happen 2 , 3 miles down the road. This is not a regular occurence , but a real pain in the arse ! took it to auto electricians plugged into computer and a fault code came up , but not recognised !! anyone any ideas ? its driving me nuts. bad wiring ?? relays ?? any input most appreciated.
sounds like you have got water in your fuel filter, have a look at the bottom of the fuel filter you will see what appears to be some sort of plug turn it anti-clockwise till you see some liquid coming ouit this will be the water then when thats gone you will smell the derv coming out if your not sure whats coming out have a feel the derv will feel oily, (dont forget to re-tighten the plug clockwise) and the water will feel like water, if this sorts out your fault then i would advise you to chage your fuel filter asap,
ps. your stop light will come on as the engine is coutting out and once you restart and the engine starts to run true the stop light will go out,
hope this helps you out

does any1 know why i have to slam my boot down 5 or 6 times before it will shut . problem only started 3 weeks ago. ive had my xsara vtr for about 5 months and i dont know why it has started doing this. has anyone else had this strange problem?
has your boot latch moved at all, have a close look at the latch to see if you can see any clean or polihed metal if you can then it as come loose and will need moving back to the right place and tightning down.
OR your button for opening the boot is sticking in when you press it to open the boot, and when you slam the lid a few times this jolts the button free and allows the boot to close, if this is so just give the button a good spray of WD40 and work it in and out, this will free it off,
hope this helps

ive got 2000 2.0hdi xantia and it wudnt rev over 3000rpm which ive bin told was limp mode, so i took it to a garage put it on the computer and they told me it was fuel pressure regulator, 300 quid and it didnt fix it its still cumin up codes in the ecu,but if u clear the faults it runs fine untill u turn it off then it goes straight back into limp mode as soon as u start it back up???? tried new ecu still doesnt work now they tellin me its this other bit another 300quid but um not so sure???? and to top it off they had the car 9 weeks, please please sumone help me, many thanks
hello danny what is the exact code thats beening shown when the ecu is scanned ????
i might be able to shed some light on it for you,
we have had it were we have scanned ecu's and changed what the fault code relates to and the same fault persists even with the new part fitted, so now when we scan an ecu for the fault we give the owner the choice if they whant us to fit the part or not as we now tell them we cannot be 100% that the new part will fix the prob we can only do what the ecu is telling us is at fault, and that once part is fitted it as to be paid for as it cannot be returned to the dealer

hello Iannez
and thanks for getting back to me with your reply,
i will look in to this as soon as i get back to work in the new year, unless i get bored over the chrismas madness,
was poor starting after first start before i cleaned the throttle body, thats why i gave her the service and cleaned up the throttle body as there was plenty of the muck around were the butterfly rests,
no probs with being crushed, i will just put her on the four post ramp at work, thanks for the warning though :) i will post how i get on with her

Hello guys and girls.
Well after praising my xantia that I just bought, its gone and let me down not once but twice, and I need to pick your brains,
Just a little info about me first, I am a m.o.t tester and mechanic, I have worked with spanners since I served my time when I left school dam that’s two and a half decades ago,
Well as I said in the general section the suspension was shot when I bout this car a week ago so I fixed the leak and as the suspension was still stiff I changed the four corner spheres and bob was your uncle, well I took my daughter out in it tonight and was posing with the high level setting and the low setting while we were parked up,
Now the thing is the rear end will no longer rise in any position have any of you any idea what’s up? It’s a none hydroactive.
I am thinking that the sphere at the rear in the centre is at fault, but I know very little about the Citroen xantia as we always turned them away, cause we believed they were a nightmare to work on,
The second fault is once you start and run the car for as little as 2 mins then stop it and go for a re-start, it really does not want to start and when it does its as if its flooded, its had a full service by myself and even the throttle body was removed and cleaned up around the butterfly, it’s a R-reg 1.8i
I would be very grateful of your help on this
Regards Ivan

Hello and a happy Christmas to you all
Well I used to own a Citroen zx 19td leader estate, and sold it to buy a discovery, mmm wrong move I now know that, I should have kept the Citroen, well I sold the discovery and bought myself a Vauxhall astra 1.4 hatch on a p-reg, I have run that now for the past two years and its done me proud, however I have just bought myself o Honda fourman 450 atv for a bit of Fun, and so I built a trailer for the atv, mmm 1.4 not going to pull the trailer to good is it,
So I have just bought myself a Citroen xantia 1.8 hatch mk2 on a r-reg :) (yes back to a Citroen) I just gave £50.00 :P for it, its nice and clean inside and out and wait for it I am told the mileage is correct at 52k the reason it was cheap there was a leak on the hydraulics, :) well it was only £50.00 with m.o.t till July 08, and ii could have scraped it for more, well I sorted out the leak, it was under the main fluid resovor one of the blocks that house three pipes it was just a blown o"ring :) yes lucky me, well not really cause when I took it down the road the ride was as rough as sandpaper, yep the rear spheres had failed, so what now well I just had to change them so I did along with the front ones as well, well if a jobs worth doing might as well do it right, :P so that’s four new spheres and she now drives like a dream, :) but what I did find when I was checking it over as if for a m.o.t (as I am a tester) was the near side rear brake was binding, so off came all four wheels and I striped down the front callipers and removed that calliper carriers into the vice and out with the file to clean em up were the pads run re-built the front brakes fitted front wheels and gave em a spin mmmm nice and sweet, so now on to the rears striped the off side rear brakes and cleaned em all up refitted off side rear wheel and gave it a spin and that was sweet, so now to the problem side near side rear, striped that down and yes you guessed it one of the pistons is seized up and it don’t want to be freed off, so that’s a new calliper for that side (£64.04 +vat ) not to bad I suppose, cause that’s all I could find that would cause me to fail it for m.o.t. So all in all don’t seem a bad deal really, so I treated her to an engine flush and a full service to day, :)
Will see how she go's when I fit my tow bracket and hook up my atv and trailer (look on the bright side if she dies I could put her in the trailer and pull her about with the atv,
Well I hope you enjoyed my post and if I can be of any help just give me a shout.
