  1. i have a citroen c3 2002 model,i have just removed the original headunit as the unit has stopped working -disc wont play. i have since purcased a kenwood kdc-w3041 unit. i was told a straight fit,as the plugs were just push on job done, seems the case except there seems to be something wrong the headunit wont turn on with the ignition or turn off when i tried to open my car it wouldnt open with the remote locking it was as if the unit had caused the car to go into eco mode and shut down, the unit plays perfectly,i get theon dash screen keeping time but wont go back to normal display lights up telling me i have a door open but crashes when the door is shut, dont know if the stalks work lol when i put the key in the battery light flicked on. but back to the headunit i assume that the battery has a constant live and that the ignition has no cable signalling the ignition is on or off, with the unit there was a cable that had the original kenwood cble with two plugs citroen fitment there is one red and one yellow with push on plugs fitted in the centres do these need to be crossed one into the other as 1 red,1 yellow are just running straight with a from one to the other so why do they need the covers must come apart and wire up else where these are comin from the the kenwood plug to the plug where the original citroen two go into. on the citroen wire there is a wire red which has been clamped onto an orange wire i think this must be the battery and ignition wire on the citroen cabling do you know if these should be taken apart and connected to the kenwood red and yellow to create a connection to disable the constant live and feed from the ignition.
  2. hello mate cant really tell you what the calculator does exactly but if you bend down in front of your c2 behind the bumper to the right you will see a thinish metal plate on suspended rubbers with a plug going in to it -this is the abs ecu unit the plug tends to come lose during movement and water can get into it so try blowing out with an airline, the calculater is posistioned above itl,its a box with a black covering, covering the wiring plugs be careful the fault is not to do with the gearbox activator basically its on the bottom of the gearbox... i had to have a calculator abs ecu activator software update totaling a hefty £1550.00 since went faulty again after two weeks of having the car it then turnt out the earths on the wiring were crap so get a second opinion on it get a diagnostics done. kind regards drew
  3. hello i recently bought a citroen c2 vtr 53 plate i have had for five weeks and have had major problems. it started last week it started revving and bolting foward on gear changes, when i stopped turnt the ignition off it was fine after. then driving around a corner lost the powersteering went rock hard and then revving at gear change again. since i was driving the car when a thick black line flicked up on the dash i pulled over straight away turnt the ignition off andrestarted got a sign off a snow flake with auto next to it tried moving back and forwards kept stalling instantly. when i tried to turn the key i would get nothing and thensuddenly it would start up pops the snow flakeafter a couple of seconds and it would nt drive so had to push into a parking space and the cars stood there for three days three miles away from my house unable to move. the car had over £1500 spent on it being tested when it had a similar problem the gearbox went to fifth, then third jumped to first and stalled and would not restart had new parts fitted: an new abs ecu as found abs ecu corrupting can network replaced gearbox actuators as not memorising gear posistion calculator was computer diagnostic tested i have since emailed the company with no reply as its to near christmas but have been told they probably wont do anything as im not the owner who had the work done originally. im going to try disconnecting the battery and trying what it says in the manual may do something like reset the ecu fingers crossed. please if anyonecan help in any way or have had the same problem then please contact me here or email me at dhenderson2@sky.com PROBLEM SOLVED EARTH WIRES IN THE ENGINE OMPARTMENT HAD LOSSENED CAUSING THE CAR TO LOSE CONTACT WHEN GOING UP A HILL OR OVER A SPEED BUMP KNOCKING IT OUT!!!!!!!!!
