  1. Hi folks. I have a P reg 1.9td xantia estate, which has been a brilliant car. In january, while away in Liverpool, I got into my parked car, depressed the clutch pedal, and it shot to the floor with a bang. One investigating, I found that the clutch cable had come out of the plastic joint clip on the foot pedal. I manage to repair it, and the car drove fine for another month, then the same thing happened again. This time I bought a new clip and metal spring. Again drove Ok for a couple of months, until it went again. Next step was to buy a new clutch cable, plus another clip and spring, and to let a mechanic fit it. Ok for another few weeks, and then the darn thing did it again. Could anybody offer any help and advise please? I really like the old girl, she's a great workhorse, but has been standing idle in the yard now for the past 4 months, as I no longer trust her. Is it something I am doing wrong perhaps? Thanks very much, John
  2. Hi, ime new to both the site and to citroens too, and would like to ask for some help please. We have just got a 1996 Xantia 1.9 TD, and all is good apart from the rear suspension dropping down. How should the system work please? I can get the car to lift using the 'higher' and/or 'max height' positions on the level lever, and for a while theres a very bouncy ride, which then settles into 'normal'. Then over a priod that seems to be quite random, the rear end drops down slowly. it lifts again fine with the lever OK. The car can sit all night without going down, but then drops when it has been driven for a while. I know you will have covered this problem mant times, and I have read some previous posts, but it seems rather confussing to me. Should the car lift itself on starting the engine, or is it a manual process using the level lever. All suggestions and help sincerely appreciated please, for which I thank you in advance. John
