Just wondered what sort of vibration , i.e. Severe, light or odd times, does come thru the steering wheel ? mine is just comin up to 1000 miles and I've noticed a tighting of the power steering (1 finger before when moving off, now 2 hands) and a brrrrrr!! thru the wheel. Also noticed it when stopping at lights. Not a real judder but a bit irritating. Will this be picked up by C.uk's wonder pc when they plug it in?? Just interested Gaz :D

Seems Duttons (presumably Duttons/Fawshaw ?) is a bit like poor old mooseshaver's Telfords in Carlisle.. Elllis Davis seems to be ok !!!

My Desire .... Just an update for anyone interested... I spoke to C uk customer services and explained my position re C3 badged as LX when it is a Desire. No problem they said, we'll send you out the transfer Great , thanks very much, i'll get the dealer to do the swap when it goes for its service. Post came yesterday morning. Nice envelope with Citreon on it. Yes! brilliant ... OH! whats this? fume fume I am now the owner of the one and only C3 LX DESIRE VTR 1.4i in the World ... Offers on ebay for this one off prototype!!!!! :lol:

tb800m.. Thanks pal. I have the petrol 1.4i version. I spoke to C UK yesterday. They said (gavin hill - mentioned elsewhere in the forum .. ahem!) that they would send me the logo in the post. I do have aircon and the rest SEEMS to be as per LX but it didn't have the single CD unit , just the Cassette. I'm wondering because I wanted a CD changer if it only fits with a Cassette and not the single unit ?? Be interested if you could find out. C UK said that it had probably been overlooked ! (what is Quality Control?? ) Still can't find a hidden sensodrive g/box though - sigh! :lol: added this after going t'club.... My wife has just been reading these posts and called me a sad git!!! .. it's what us men do , isn't it!! .. twine, complain, never appreciate what we got and always want the latest model!!! ouch!! cu :o

Pork pie... as u know I've been in a couple of the sites question forums... There seems to be a lot of problems regarding the 16v hdi , I've got the 1.4i 75bhp petrol and none of these problems have reared their ugly head. Is it just the Diesel that is causing problems ? I'd be interested to know if this does affect the petrol. It seems to me that most of the really bad experiences have come from HDI owners. cheers gaz :o

:o Pork Pie...Swap Cd/Cassette. No.!!.. If we do that the dashboard caves in and more air vents appear, the windscreen goes concave and a moduboard appears in the boot!!! (I'll maybe find my Desire sticker though!) gaz

PorkPie.. The cd changer is v.g. I've got 5 cd's in the thing and everything is controlled from the wiper stalk (change,volume etc). Excellent sound from the system as well. The only gripe i've got is that it has a stereo cassette above it ! (citreon website says that desire's have a single cd unit). Which is probably why you've got bits from an Lx on yr SX! ... I rang C UK this morning and they are ringing back to discuss why my Desire has LX plastered all over it , together with bits of SX, Right hand stowage (froggies are left handed , which means "oi !, put that seat on the right hand side cos it's going across the chunnel".), a Stereo instead of a CD player and gizmo's on the wiper stalks when they shouldn't be there. Moonshaver... did ellis davis lend you Picasso outright or did you table thump ? :unsure:

I'm going to rip mine apart and find the sensodrive gearbox !!! (or an air vent ... or my blooming desire sticker!!!) gaz ps .. but it still drives ok .. must be my lucky day!

<_< I don't know what specs they actually build into these cars. Perhaps they just pick n' mix !! I bought a C3 Desire in March . On delivery (1 week) I hopped in and was chuffed with it. On closer inspection it says LX on the quarter light. Whilst on holiday some people next door arrived and they had a C3 with Desire on the back and no LX!.. I looked in and saw a single cd player . Mine has a stereo with a cd changer that I bought from my dealer. It has controls on the wiper stalks, LX on the sides and the tray under the Drivers seat. When I got home I rang Citreon UK and they checked my engine/vin number on their system... Yes it is a Desire. Great I said, where's me blooming transfer then !!!! apart from this I'm pleased with it , even though it differs quite a bit from the specs on the website !!!!! gaz

I put the wipers on to intermittent and then when selecting reverse the rear window wiper starts. hope this helps

:) Thanks pal.... did wot you said and it did work okay.. couldn't really hear it above my DeepPurple CD tho!!!! One other thing with this c3.. Mine is classified as a 1.4i Desire, on the car it is marked as LX... Looking at citreon's web site for the C3, the Desire is fitted with lateral airbags and back headrests and fitted with a single CD player... mine doesn't have those (and I bought a cd changer from the dealer)to complement a Cassette Player, but the chitty from DVLC shows C3 Desire 1.4i (petrol of course.. not like you posh people with HDI's etc). Maybe it is only on the 93 version (even tho mine is an 03.. probably made in early 2002!) Does the Desire have a logo or summat??? Cheers Gaz :(

:) I got my C3 Desire 1.4i three weeks ago. Everything seems fine and I'm pleased with it . I have 1 problem which is setting the speed control set on the Radio front. The book says hold in for a long period when at the speed you want reminded of (say >30mph). It is supposed to BONG! , then Bing-blooming-bong when over the set speed. I cant get the thing to work at all, even tho the button is there . Every other button has a illuminator that comes on - except this. what am I doing wrong??
