  1. John, no clutch slip, it is not when changing gear but constantly when in gear, happens all the way through 1 to 3, slightly less in 4 but nothing in 5, put clutch in after changing and noise literally stops, until change to next gear let clutch out and its is there again . What is DMF ? Bob
  2. Got a 2002 1.8lx. 80k Last night after moving off from lights there is a bad "grinding" metallic noise coming from the LH front.I think it is something to do with gearbox / clutch. Noise happens in 1/2/3/4 but not 5, gears change up fine, nice and smooth, but change down from 5 to 4 is difficult but rest ok. Any ideas ? gearbox selector bust ? clutch breaking up ? Cheers Bob
  3. Turbo ,cheers, mine is not digi, just air con, would you think it is the same ? Bob
  4. Hi, Got a 1.8 2002,the blower has stopped working on 1 and 2, 3 and 4 are fine ? does this mean contacts dirty ( if there are ) new control unit, take apart wire loose ? Cheers Bob
  5. Can you fix a leaking front brake caliper with a seal set? (like i used to on old escorts ! )or is a advisable to get new calipers ? Any help / suggestions appreciated
  6. Coastline, as you said it is a pig to get the white cover ! and then get it toopen, assuming it is the child lock, mine did`nt seem to be,i got the door open by soaking/ spraying the lock in wd40 twice a day for a couple of days, used the central locking and banged the door on the outside,it made it open! I have now replaced both rear locks ( nearly £200)
  7. Cheers As a short term fix i have temporariley pulled off the central locking feed to the rear door, the car locks and arms but the rear is always open . It will do until i get paid next !
  8. Have had the usual probs with rear doors not working, have got the offside working fine, had to get complete new lock £98 !( got a second hand one was c..p) The near side can be opened from inside, but tp open from out side have to bang the door then it works, but once central locked stops again. To save me another £98 would it fail MOT? Haynes only mentions front doors or has anyone got any suggestions to get it working. Cheers Bob
  9. Just ordered it from Haynes website, 3 day delivery and in stock
  10. Tried an indi exhaust centre, they ordered repair pipe and rear silcencer from Timex catalogue, yep repar pipe to long !,never mind they cut the exhaust and repair pipe and sleeved them together, charged £125.00, result !!
  11. When at Kwik fit they ordered a " repair " pipe which is meant to be cut in after the cat, my car is pre 08/02 which means it won`t fit as there is a sensor about 1 foot after the cat, hence new system including cat, However, local motor factors has come up with £275 fully fitted ! including cat, just for fun tried Citreon, genuine parts, fully fitted £1065.23 wow !!!!!!!!!
  12. Got a 1.8 2002 C5, the exhaust started blowing on the join of the back box and main pipe, took it to a "centre" to be told, new back box, main pipe and cat ! cost £450, apparently the cat is on the main pipe and you have to replace whole lot ! Any ideas, please! Bob
  13. Hi,got a 2002 1.8, got the usual rear doors won`t unlock. Have sorted the n/s by tapping on edge of door whilst unlocking, removing panel etc and lubricating / checking, works fine now. The o/s there is no central door unlocking / locking noise, got the panel off, removed the lock theft sheild but can not get any unlocking or any joy. Any ideas ? is a fuse gone? is it garage job ? Cheers Bob
