  1. Its abit of a faff to do on the drive but is doable. I dropped the subframe a few inches using 2 trolley jacks. No bolts snapped which was nice. A stud removal socket to take the studs out of the rack instead of just the nuts will make extracting and fitting the rack alot easier.
  2. I got my rack from acs power steering next day delivery as they try to keep racks in stock. I did it diy but for anyone else struggling to find a rack in stock quickly they are worth a try.
  3. Water gets in past the window seals and pretty much always will. The problem is that the drain holes were blocked. I had pug 206 that had stickers over the holes on the left front door. The rest were clear. Only noticed after a big storm had had ago at filling the door.
  4. Economy comes on dependent on battery voltage but also has a time related to how long the engine has run since the last time it was in economy mode.
  5. Ive come across a fiat that juddered under braking and after much head scratching it was traced to a inner cv joint being shot. Was fine on acceleration and normal driving but apply the brakes and it just kind of locked up the joint.
  6. Ok just abit of idle pondering at the moment as ive neve seen the underside of a berlingo i was wondering how much of the parts are interchangeable with the likes of the 206? Specificaly suspension and subframes.
  7. Just had my wipers go belly up on my 58 plate tourer. Stopped completely on mine turned out to be the right hand motor. Removed both motors opened the back found right one had let water in. Replace with a 2nd hand unit for £70 as new ones came in at £250. You might get lucky if you open it up and find its wet and dry it out and reseal. Since yours are both kind of working but id budget to replace at-least 1
  8. Remove the xenon kit. Check main engine bay fuses and how charged the battery is. Sounds like a flat battery but best return it to how it was before to help fault find.
  9. Thats a dying battery 11.3v when connected is around 30% charge. The 12.4 will probably have been a surface charge that dissipated when you hooked the terminals back up. Anything thats dropping to the 9-8 volt region on cranking is liable to throw fault codes on modern cars so its harder to limp a battery to that completely shagged point that we used to be able to do. On the plus side your alternator appears to be working.

  11. I got mine form these guys. Www.acspowersteering.co.uk after several places supplying incorrect spec racks these guys overnighted the correct one next day and its been faultless since i fitted it.
  12. Any good indipendent garage should be able to do it for alot less than 2k genuine new citroen rack from citeoen is 1k for the rack a recon rack comes in at £300 or less. Alow for 4-5 hrs labour. I did mine on the drive using a small trolley jack and 2 axle stands in 5hrs. Could do it quicker and easier if i had taken it i to work.
  13. Check condition of earth comections but wouldnt be surprised if your starter was dead. Also try the battery disconect reconect procedure detailed in the stickies. Just in case the bsi has thrown the imobiliser.
  14. The little link cost about £2 its not to bad to get at think you can get to it with the left wheel off and from underneath with the under tray removed.
