  1. Typical. Really beginning to regret getting this car! Thanks :)
  2. Great thanks guys at least that's one worry out of the way if my mechanic can't rectify it.
  3. Thanks :)
  4. There are several past topics on the forum where it's printed, but here it is again:- CORRECT REBOOT PROCEDURE FOR BSI Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off. Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition. Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds. Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.). Switch on the side lights through the driver's window. Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality. Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds. Remove key open & close door test central locking system. Start the engine and complete the system's check. Reset the clock and date. Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items. Hi John hanks for that. One question however, I don't have the key fob/remote key. When I bourght the car, only had the coded key for the imobiliser, so can can I lock/unlock manually? Derren
  5. Ha that sounds like a good idea for my bucket of bolts right now. Where can I find the correct way to do it? Thanks. Derren
  6. Hi, Thanks, but thats the one I have already, it covers a shed load of stuff that isn't on my car.
  7. Does anyone know where I can get my hands one a C5 owners handbook that was supplied with the 2001 model? I have one that covers a few medels, but would like one that just shows the specs of my car, whould be much easier to navigate through.
  8. Maybe this is a silly question, but what does disconnecting the battery to reset the bsi actually do? C5 newby - 51 plate atuo 2.0 HDI.
  9. I don't have the codes because nothings coming up. When I got it checked at the transmission place he said the ABS ECU ain't talking to the gearbox ECU so it's not recording the speed or something. Cured the tailgate/wiper/central locking issue, removed the rear wiper fuse from fuse box. Everything else works and I can lock the car so happy about that. May have to remove the wiper tho cos its an MOT fail if not working where fitted I believe.
  10. Hi guys, I have a 2001 C5 auto desiel estate. After a lil advise. When the car gets hot, it has trouble engaging gear and over revs. I have had the gear box checked out and the codes are saying that the ABS ECU is not talking to the gearbox ECU. Is this likely to be a simple bad earth connection or a screwed ABS ECU? The other prob is that when I use the rear wiper, the tailgate opens! Also, is it normal with the C5 to be able to operate the windows and wipers and other bits with the ignition turned off completely? Thanks. Dellboy100
