  1. I have a 2009 c5 that has started making a creaking sound when you turn the steering wheel it seems to be coming from around the front wheels but is hard to track down because it only happens when you first move it then it stops any one had this or knows what to check to narrow it down.
  2. driving home today and ive got the message anti pollution system faulty and the engine management light is on but if anything it feels more powerful not less. Ive got a 2009 c5 vtr+ 2.0d 168hp and shes done 120k+ I had the particulate fluid topped up last year and it was serviced the end of last year. has anyone had this fault any idea whats up.
  3. I bought the car last year from an independent it was supposed to have a full service when I bought it but doubt it so I've ordered a full set of filters from eurocarparts less than £20 for air oil and fuel at the moment .

Hi I have a 2009 hdi and it's just started jumping not all the time but enough to be concerning I can be happily driving along when it is like foot tapping on the accelerator I have an idea what I think it is but was wondering what you guys think is there a common fault on the c5 that would cause this .

Hi replaced my front brake pads today if we disregard knakered locking wheel nuts sized wheel nuts ect all went well the old pads were worn to the sensors it didn't register as a fault because the wires were broken on the car side if the loom😣 that shouldn't be to hard to fix my problem is the bleeding nipple on the drivers side has been snapped off (not by me)I managed to get the new pads fitted ok I bleed all the brakes except the front drivers side if I pump the peddle with the engine off the peddle go's solid start the engine it gos down the brakes still feel a bit soft to me so do I A try to remove the broken nipple and replace B bleed through the brake hose or C leave it and let the new pads bedin . Is there any other way to firm up the brakes other than bleeding or any other thing I should check that may make them soft.

I just had the same problem with my 09 C5 the locking bolts had been over tightened and sized in place I got the first out but one of the lugs in the key came losse and another broke off when I tried the next one my solution was to drill the weak soft lugs out with a 4mm bit (same size as the lugs )then I cut down a couple of old 4mm bits to replace the lugs I use this tool to get two more off but the final one was just to chewed up I'm guessing someone else had this trouble . So I pulled the car 4"from the kerb and fetched a 6foot builders level (a very strong one )put the key on the bolt the best I could and my longest wrench on that then got my son to jam the level between the kerb and the tyre got him to apply pressure to my wrench and slowly very slowly it came out .

Some great advice thanks as for not turning it off it stop it misting up that sounds a bit like going to the dr and saying it hurts when you raise your arm and him saying don't lift it then good advice but doesn't really help fix the problem 😉 I haven't noticed damp under the car any idea of the location of the drain tube for the matrix

  11. When I had the heater matrix replaced I found the passenger footwell soaking so I pulled the carpet up and dryed it I havnt noticed it wet since but I will check
  12. No it doesn't use any coolant it's had a new condensor and heater matrix last year
  13. Hi I have a citroen C5 tourer 2.0hdi 2009 great car but if I turn the ac on then when it's cool turn it off the windscreen mists up strait away any idea why?? And what to do to sort it
  14. Thanks I will check the service book I recently bought the car at the end of last year it has 114000 on the clock full service history and I think it was a rep car so mostly motorway miles

Thanks Paul it does look easy I've called a few garages for quotes (to save getting my hands dirty)citroen said about £200 quid that's about what I was expecting but they also said I would need to replace my particulate filter at the cost of £800 I've had no other problems with the way my car drives no exess smoke no other warnings why would I need to replace the filter is this right??
  16. Hi ive just got the warning that the fluid is too low question is it easy to refill yourself where do I buy the fluid how much do I need is there a walk through link and how much would a garage charge for the job. before you ask... I have a C5 tourer 2009 2.0hdi
  17. Hi I thought I would just put this out there for your thoughts. I bought a lovely 2009 C5 estate vtr+ 2.0hdi high millage 100000 but fsh when I looked to buy it in September it all looked good although the AC didn't seem to work and there was a pfh pfh pfh noise coming from the engine (some sort of belt noise). I agreed to buy for £5000 inc trade in of my old car as long as the faults were put right. I collected the car a week later the belt wasn't squeaking and I was assured all was fixed after the 60+ miles drive home I had noticed the AC hadn't been fixed then noticed the passanger window was stuck then a few days later yay the belt stared squeaking again. I contacted the garage he said the sales man hadn't mentioned the AC needed repair and admitted they had sprayed the belt with silicone to fix it but agreed to put it all right so a 60mile drive to the garage they fixed the window and said they fitted a new belt but didn't have the parts to do the AC so I would have to bring it back when they can get the parts so 60miles back home. Two weeks later after leaving lots of answer phone messages emails ect I got through and he could fit it in in a weeks time so another 120mile round trip and they fitted a new condenser the AC worked great on the way home but the belt was making that noise again. Then next day the belt still making the noise and the AC not working again got back on to the garage again he agreed to take another look after a few more weeks another 120mile trip he said the AC evaporator was blown he had fitted a new aux belt tentioner that didn't fix the fault so he removed that and ordered a supposedly ordered a cam pulley he said the dash would have to come out and that is a big job so I would have to leave it with him for a while and he would give me a car to use he did but there was no fuel in it so I had to get some before the 60mile drive home again. lots of calls messages and emails and five weeks later I got my car back yay!!!! NO the AC now works perfectly ish but the central display is now not working the speaker and cover on top of the dash missing the auto lock function and the lock button inside the car dosnt work and the blower wont blow on the windscreen on the passanger side. I also think hes nicked my engine cover as im sure it was there but isn't now... oh and the belts still making that noise I have now got him to agree to letting me take it to citroen they think they can sort the dash issues for between £300-600 and ive asked them to check the belt noise he said he would cover that . I then asked him if he had changed the pulley and he said he hadn't as he thinks its actualy the cambelt making the noise so he sprayed it with silicone !!!! well that's where I am at the moment we'll see what citroen find next week :unsure: any thoughts advice welcome
  18. Hi I've checked the wire no. It's hard to read but I think the white wire says. Bk 13.1 k3238 there is also numbers on the brown wire but I can't see what that says. If any one knows where this plug should go please let me know.
  19. Numbers on the wires I'll check later there is no funny smells and nothing feels damp the heater matrix new so I don't think it's that but there does seem to be a lot more air coming out towards the drivers side where are the flaps are they accesable to check.
  20. I've just got my 2009 vtr+ back from the garage after having the heater matrix replaced under warranty now my ac works fine but. The multifunction display for the radio is dead I've check the wire to it and that's seems fine . The passenger side of the wind screen and door window fog up unless the ac is turned on. The auto locking system when you start driving isn't working any more. And when you press the lock button the led just flickers. I've found a wire but I haven't got a clue were it goes see pic I'd rather not have to take the car back to the garage again although he says he'll put it right he tends to break more than he fixes so if any one can point me in the right direction with any or all of these faults that would be great.

Hi ive just got my 2009 C5 back after 5 weeks getting a new heater matrix fitted under warranty and the radio multifunction display is no longer working it dosnt there are no signs of life at all but the radio still works I have checked the best I can there seems to be only one plug attached to it and that's in and locked in place and there is a 12v supply at the plug .should I take this to mean the muppet at the garage has damaged the display when they removed the dash or is there any thing else I should check before replacing it. also I have found a loose flat plug behind the radio with a white brown and blk wire going to it every thing else seems to work any idias where that might be from ?
  23. Hi I have a 2009 2tl hdi c5 could anyone tell me what the correct tool is to remove the alternator pulley I don't want to buy a full kit but there seems to be different sizes
  24. I was getting Eco mode after about 5min of radio or if hadn't driven the car for a bit easy fix was to replace the battery.
  25. I went to the main dealer in Exeter today and asked about the plastic bit they should of asked me to sit before telling me it's £99. It's a peice of plastic about 8" long £99 wtf
