OK, just tested it and it changes everything over to the metric system. Odometer indicates Kilometers, total distance is Kilometers and speedo indicates Km/hr. So, with a lense cover, rea fog light modification and metric selection on the setup the only thing different is that the steering wheel is still on the right side. (Need to make a suggestion to Citroen - :-) I also read somewhere that in France you have to have two breathalyser kits in the car and two reflective jackets. I wonder if one also needs reflective triangles? I thought with the European Union rules everyone would work to the same requirements. But it seems there are still a lot of individual regs just to keep us all from getting too laid back.

Yeah, Regarding the rear fog lights, my car has one on one side and a reverse light on the other side. So, if i change the reverselight lense to a red one and wire it to the fog light circuit, then I would have symetrical fog lights at the back and that becomes legal, as far as I can tell. I'll need to get that verified but that is my thinking. I've also seen a few headlight beam options. Changing the whole unit or fixing another cover over the existing one or glueing on some fancy little things. I'll play that one by ear a bit later. I did have a look in the car at the setup option and one can choose metric or imperial units. But it appears to be only the distance and fuel consumption units. I'll try it today and test drive to see if the speedo indication changes as well and will post the results here.

Hi Paul.H, Thanks very much for that. I will have a look in the car and see if there is an option available. Regarding the headlights, I was aware of the difference but I thought one had to change the whole light fitting. Be nice if that is not necessary. As for the rear fog light, I imagine that that is an asy fix.

I wonder if any member knows how to do this. If I were going to move to mainland Europe and I took my car with me, is it possible to change the instrument display to the metric system? That is, KPH and distance to Kilometers. It would be rather convenient to be able to do so via the setup facility and therefore be able to change at will. Or would that involve having to change major components? Thanks in advance folks.

Hi, Thanks for that. I never thought of looking in the car's handbook about that. I just presumed that as there is no park position on the selector that there was nothing but the handbrake. Just goes to show. I need to wake up a bit. Now am a bit wiser thanks to a forum member/moderator. Much appreciated.

Hi all. A question regarding the EGS gearbox. When you park the car, switch off and apply the handbrake, and leave the selector in "N". Then I presume that the gearbox is in neutral and it is only the handbrake that holds the car staionary. Now, if you do the same thing but, you put the gearselector in "A" or "R" as it is essentially a manual gearbox, would the gearbox also assist to hold the car stationary? I suppose one could find out by doing so and trying to push it, with the handbrake released, of course. Or stopping on a hill and seeing if it rolls away. I realise that the clutch is not engaged when you stop with the engine running but what happens after the engine is switched off? Is the gearbox locked into gear if the selector is left in "A" or "R"? What do the technical exoperts have to say?

I forget the brandname but I bought it off Ebay for £24 and some pence. It's advertised with a wireless LED indicator. The picture shows the 4 sensors, a control box and the wireless indicator.

Hi all, well, I bought an after market rear sensor kit off Amazon. It has 4 colour coded rear sensors and a wireless indicator that has to be mounted and powered inside the car. It came with a hole saw as well. So, I cut the holes and mounted the sensors. I had to modify the system used to hold the sensors in place as they wouldn't sit flush. Having trimmed the soft rubber wedges a little I got a neat seating of the sensor but, then they wern't firmly held in place so I used a very little drop of clear glue and that seems to have done the trick. I suppose it may be a problem removing them again but I'm working on the pricipal that they are supposed to be a permanent fixture. Wiring was fed through a grommet that already has the wiring to the rear fog light and reverse light from the spare wheel well. I peeled off the insulation tape around the wiring loom and using a pin and a meter, found the power supply to the reverse light and tapped a power supply off that to the reverse sensor control box. The wire from each sensor also fed through the same grommet into the spare wheel well. Connected everything up, tested same and re-arranged connections from the sensors in order to get the correct indications on the indicator. I then found that mounting the indicator unit on top of the interior rear view mirror worked a treat and a power supply was taken off the interior light fitting close to the rear view mirror. No need to cut anything or make any holes either. And wiring tucks away very neatly. So now whn reversing, by looking in the rear view mirror you are also looking at the reversing indicator and you get indications in distance with a "beep" sound from about a meter away to a solid, constant "beeeep" at 0,5 meter distance. Also, you are given an indication of whether the obstruction is to the left or right or straight behind. The only negative is that the "beep" sound is very loud and is not adjustable. I stuck a bit of black rubber on top of the indicator and covered some small holes that I thought were outlets for the sound. I don't think it's made it any quieter though. So I'll just live with the loud "beep" when I reverse towards an object in the way. So, A successful purchase and installation that was easy and quick to do. It took about 1 or 1,5 hours to do . And the colour match is not bad either. In my case, silver. So if any member here wants any more info, just drop me a line.

Hi, thanks for the comment. Sounds as though it's worth it from time to time then. So I think I'll just continue adding a cleaner from time to time.

Hi all, What is the forum feeling regarding the additives that are sold at supermarkets and spares shops that are supposed to clean the fuel systems/ injectors? I have read bits and pieces and some say, that supermarket fuels do not contain the detergent chemicals that are in independant retailer's fuels and that it is, therefore, a good idea to add the occasional nbottle of cleaner to your fuel tank. I have added the stuff on the occasional occasion and my car is still running very nicely. I don't know if there has been any cleaning effect or not but, the car runs fine and I haven't noticed any negative, or positive reactions. Be interesting to see other folks opnions.

I recently bought a 2010 C4 with a Myway satnav built in. The Sd card was dated 2009/2010 and covers most of western Europe / Maroc. I decided to do some add ons to my car like rear parking sensors and the latest mapping SD card from Navetec. All is good and working very nicely and I now have the 2009/2010 Sd mapping card. If anyone would like to make me an offer that I can't refuse, I will gladly stick it in an envelope and post it.

Hi, Thanks for that. I have noted the turbo cooling advice and will stick to that. I have read about injectors that leak and the turbo problems although, in most cases, it appears that owners are happy and reliability sounds quite acceptable. So far it's a very acceptable ride and as I got a 12 month full Citroen warranty with it I am fairly confident that it will be fine. Time will tell, I guess.

Hi all, I'm new to this country and brand of car. I just relocated here from South Africa and had to buy a car. I found a rather nice 2010 C4 with 11,000 miles on it with the, new to me, gearbox. It's a 1,6 ltd. diesel. Also new to me, diesel, that is. So far I'm pretty impressed. Suspension may be a touch jarring but the gearbox and all the extras are rather nice. The economy is very impressive and the motor pulls well without making me think I'm in a truck or a tractor. The only after market thing that I'm going to install is a rear parking sensor system. A real must have, in my opinion. I did order from Navtec, the latest mapping SD card which arrived today and is installed. Now I need to go for a drive and see if I can see any difference on the satnav. So, anything that I should be aware of of look at that is a weak point? Or any other advice in general, will be much appreciated.
