been looking but cant see a hand primer

hi again,been working on everyones advice,many thanks for help,.so far new cam n crank sensors new starter motor,new fuel filter,fresh diesel.starts on lots of easy start,runs up to 4000 rpm for 3 seconds then dies,gonna look to see if there is a hand primer,any more suggestions welcome

thanks everyone,i am a "big hammer man",i have opened the filter,but at the expense of snapping a pipe off !.the filter is dark /dirty but the diesel is very clean/no fungus. i have stuck pipe back on and ordered an inner filter from ebay just now.hope my bodge job works or is there an equivalent/replacement 3 connections fuel filter available,thanks again.

thank you so much for more good advice to work on. on my very first post (where is crankshaft sensor)i put that eco-mode showing on dash,- its still showing

tried starting again today with easy start- it ran for 5 seconds !!.just read your good advice .i have removed fuel filter and will order new one from e bay{not looked in canister yet)i played about with remote,locking,unlocking.headlight icon then started flashing on dash. i played with light stalk, flashing stopped and then car started-but only ran 5 seconds, battery is always being removed/fitted to charge so maybe this has something to do with problems.in a few days when new filter comes i will put a gallon of fresh diesel in and redex. i welcome good advice and also tips about battery/ecu ,priming,anything else,would tow starting help ?

so far replaced cam and crank sensors,replaced starter motor,someone said crack off 17 mm nuts on injectors so done that,fuel coming out.engine is turning over fast but still wont start.glow plug light only seems to light for about 2 seconds.might try tow starting tomoro.any ideas please?

inspected starter motor, cogs look fine ,no metal fragments,how do i inspect flywheel cog ? thank you

thank you for advice.so far fitted new cam and crank sensors,car no different.also been using easy start.will look for primer tomorrow.car has been stood about 15 months,but started up 6 months ago.couple of gallons in tank and i hear fuel pump running when key turned.starter motor doesnt sound right sometimes i.e turns slowly,seems to disengage then whirr and also grate at times.starter motor sounds better the longer you leave it between tries..please keep sending your excellent knowledge.correct way to start car would be useful such as foot on/off throttle pedal etc

many thanks for that,it wont start,dont know much about cars,been researching internet,so far swapped cam sensor,no difference,shows economy mode on dash ,no warning lights ,used a cheap code reader doesnt show anything bought new crankshaft sensor,will fit when i find location..grateful for all useful advice .thanks again

please show /tell where crankshaft sensor is. my car is a XSARA DIESEL 110 2 LITRE HDI
