The original problem was in deed a temperature sensor, which the dealers have sorted as far as the temp is now constant, but when the car is first started its rough, engine idle is irratic at best. leave it a bit and it sorts itself out, never had this before temp sensor prob.. Had a pug 207 for a couple of days while mine was being repaired, never had a pug before, i no that there basically the same company using very simular bits but the pug 207 isn't 4 me, poor ride back (ache after a few miles) just felt wrong, like a small car on the inside with chunky bits on the outside trying to make it bigger than it actually is..... 1.4 engine i asume this is what is in the c4, took an age to get up to speed but once it got to 60/70mph it wasn't too far off of the 1.6 steady 4k revs at 90mph but the pick up was shocking 0-60......

The story just got on the motorway done approx 5 miles, Alarm starts bleeping red light appears on the dash flashing stating "STOP" AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE FLASHING LIKE MAD.. pulled over into hard shoulder popped the bonnet to check water levels etc and waited for Rac. Towed back to dealer for a possible temperature sensor failure, engine stone cold and fan running and all sorts of warning lights flashing, (citroen salesguys face a picture as we pulled up with lights flashing as hes trying to sell a second hand c4, not the best advertisment) Not what i'd expect from a 6 month old car infact it's left me well p###ed off with it, Being towed back into dealers on a 06 plate not what i expected when i bought it, But these cheap electrical sensors are a pain in the arse, I've had electrical probs on cars before but they have all got past the 2 year old mark, coupled with all the squeeks and rattles i'm not enjoying this c4 experience at the moment

it all seems to depend what you call extra mpg. I test drove the 1.4 and straight away new it was not for me, lacked pick up and i found it sluggish but it can also depend on what you are going from my previous motor 2ltr and found the 1.4 too big a drop, the 1.6 isn't anything special just that bit better and as for mpg not too great a difference between the two especially if you drive the 1.4 hard all the time.

Have not seen a kit that looks right yet, kits seem to look better on the eye when they compliment the lines/angles of the car, the lights and the front end of the c4 are rounded without any real angle, maybe an alteration to the headlights? would make more of a focus point for the body kit to take the lines from same shape but with an mid point angle rather than curve.

i have recently noticed the same squeek, at first i thought it was when the clutch pedal was pressed but it is infact coming from the accelerator pedal, if you let your foot off and press again it comes from the accelerator not sure on the setup of the car if its hydraulic or cable type was going to ask when i take it to dealer next time.quick fix turn radio up B)

Yes the air con does get slightly cooler on recirculate, but i was told not to run with the air con on this setting for any great length of time as all the condensation that is taken out of the cabin air causes problems with the seals and air con unit when switched off. Which causes the life of the unit to be reduced. Got this info from a sub contract air con engineer at work who re-pressurised car units as a side line. Not sure if he was telling the truth but just took his word for it.

i'm not impressed with the air con on mine either, its not cold enough full stop. It is air con and not climate control but slap it on full and try to aim vents towards you which is nearly impossible and you still can feel hot and bothered. I would go as far as to say its the worst ive had, the cars only a few months old so it shouldn't require servicing but rather have a sun than this....

i've used the same dealer for my last two cars 'Perry's Barnsley' just different manufacturers. They have been helpful when needed but i don't like salemen/ persons anyway they tend to get me fired up before i even get into conversation, more bothered about how they look rather than car knowledge or do you want to insure your insurance incase your insurance blar blar bullshit....... :D but when warrenty work has been carried out they have supplied loan/hire cars including home pickups etc, with no fuss so overall not bad....................

most of the young apprentices i work with have some one else on the insurance with them, it seems to be benificial to have a female on the policy as this does tend to reduce premiums even further, but you have to ask serious questions before paying upto 3k because its a smart car but thats a stupid premium. what group is it ?

They are becoming more comman place now,the avenue i live on has 4 c4's three 3 door and my 5 door. Some people just wont have a french motor, they dont like the french and wont have a french car, shame but thats the responce i got when i got mine, unless its for the school run because then you can get a picasso. These must be the most popular people carrier i see shed loads of them and this must be down to purchase price because its a ugly looking motor,if i needed a p.c i'd be more tempted with a vauxhall.
-
hi there........ When i ordered mine i was told 10 days it took 15 days in the end main reason due to the car coming over from france, and the dealer didn't really have a clue what would be on the next transporter, don't seem to keep many stock motors here..

cars are getting more difficult to break into and the c4 has some good sercurity fittings but if some one wants it bad enough they will tend to pinch the car keys from the house first. Read a report some time ago that approx 70% of people leave their car keys in the house door lock over night, easiest way forr the crooks to get hold of a damaged free motor with a key.

visability in the 5 door isn't great, find it almost impossible to judge when reversing into a space, have been known to get out notice a 3 metre gap go and open the boot (just in case anyones watching) as if i intended it, then get back in a shift it back a couple of metre .................. With wozza on brakes these are superb...........

whats your big plus point for the car and also your biggest gripe... i have to admit that i'm impressed with the way the car handles. corners well, takes speed bumps with ease and dont notice any body roll and it seems to stick to the road like glue. enjoy taking it on country lanes as its quite fun to throw around the corners, getting bugs off after is a different matter. <_< i no that people have compared it to smaller cars on here and said it isn't quite as good but it is a mid range car and makes for a good drive.i actually like the firm ride. bad point for me might seem a strange choice but hate the steering wheel. Fixed centre airbag with controls on is crap really in my eyes. i prefer the radio controls to turn with the wheel so you can adjust easier when cornering and not sure if it just my model but i'd also like to skip back tracks as well as forward. I dont think it has taken off really because i dont see any other car makers copying I no people say its for a better designed airbag but its not for me.
