  1. Its a puzzle too why the heater fan and wipers/washers don't work either when the indicators work fine. The other two must need the immobilizer deactivated i guess and the indicators don't. So off to citroen Mon i guess with a silly amount of readies. Teach me to be more careful :( Thanks a lot
  2. Hi again There we hit another problem as i have only one key. I have ordered a new blank transponder chip and was hoping i could get it programmed to the car by one of these 'mileage correction' people but not sure if they do that kind of stuff. The little card you get when the car is new with the code on it i don't have either. Had a good look round but the dropped chip has probably been vacuumed up as my wife is an avid user :) As you say i might have to see Mr Citroen Sigh ! Thanks
  3. Hi Put a new battery in my c3 key fob and car would not start. While replacing the battery i knocked out the little graphite? block { Shaped like sim card }. Now what do i do? Tried my mates block { Transponder? } but no joy. The central locking still works. Thanks
  4. Thats great thanks
  5. Just replaced the instrument cluster and Bsi unit on my c3 and before doing so the mileage was 39,900 +/- a bit. and now it displays 100,000 My car goes for the mot soon and i wonder what mileage they will put down? Its going to be bad if they put the 100,000 down as the mileage when its not the correct mileage. Where is the mileage stored? The BSI unit or the instrument cluster? Maybe i can get a unit with a nearer mileage but which one do i go for? The BSI unit or another instrument cluster? Thanks
  6. Not lucky at it seems as the replacement BSI i had to purchase being the main fault had 100,000 stored in it and now my c3 has this mileage on the clock Sigh! The instrument cluster was no good anyway but it seems the BSI stores all the mileage.
  7. Yeah all is well. It took 20mins and thats inc a fag:-) Sad day though as the unit was not the problem and it turned out to be the BSI/FUSE unit. My car has done 39700 miles +/- a bit and the replacement BSI unit had 100,000 stored on it. Sigh! Oh well.
  8. Thanks for that. Citroen say the tailgate i have purchased is from a diesel hdi c3 and used the non tapered motor. The arm part number is RCA-746 for this motor and the 3 legs on it are slightly larger than the tapered motor but yes it might be possible to drill out the bolts with a diamond drill bit. Anyhoo theres no need as i purchased an arm RCA-746 elsewhere cried a little at the price { but its better than sobbing uncontrollably at citroens prices } and now all is well :D Thanks again and yes you were right they said book it in but i am going to try and find an auto electrician first and see if it can be solved before i pay the £60 machine time at main dealer. Ian
  9. Yeah i got a replacement tailgate and all went well til i tried to put the wiper arm on and found its not the same fitment as the old motor which was tapered and this one is a kind of round barrel shape with criss cross engraved into it and now i have to source an arm but don't know what year the doner vehicle was. And as you say i can't swap motors. Breakers yards work on reg numbers so i will end up with an arm for a tapered shaft which i don't want. :( Thanks for the help and if anyone has an arm let me know please homerv6@aol.com. Ian ps/ Still struggling with instrument cluster fault and someone says it could be the BSI / Fuse box so hand in pocket time again it seems. Local garage won't entertain citroen or renault problems so its thinking cap time. :)
  10. excellent thanks
  11. I have a haynes manual so will take a look for you. Will take a look at my c3 too
  12. Is it possible to remove the tailgate glass on a c3 and refit to another tailgate of better condition? Thanks :)
  13. Hi How do i remove the instrument cluster speedo etc from a c3? Can i do it without taking all the dashboard out? Thanks :)
  14. Hi Thanks. it's got everyone puzzled. As for the mileage thing, the old one had 39300 on it if i remember right and the new one has 41200 so pretty lucky in that respect :)
