  1. I can sympathise with you as I have had no joy with either the dealership or Citroen. The dealer ship agrees that the whine is there but because they don't know what is causing it inside the gearbox Citroen don't want to know. It would appear that the only solution is to get rid of it and lose 4000 pounds. Like you I have emailed/written/ and phoned.
  2. Thank you Moderator. I have written several letters and emails to Citroen and Freeborn Southampton garage with the same answer as described. They just do not want to know. I will take your advice and discuss it with the local Citizen Advice Centre. Thank You
  3. For the past six months I have tried getting the dread full transmission whine cured under the terms of the warranty but with no success. The dealer Freeborn Southampton have agreed the problem but cannot identify what is causing it. Citroen UK state that because the dealer cannot state what is causing it they will not honour the three year warranty. The whine starts badly at 35mph to 40mph in 4th gear and is definitely a transmission problem. Citroen will not authorise a new unit. The car has now done only 6000 miles. So beware that if you have a major problem then your warranty is useless. What can I do next?
