Paul, thank you very much, i stopped a guy today in a C5 and cheekily asked him to demonstrate his air blower, it blew like a hurricane compared to mine...so guess this flap thing is the problem, will scrutinize the info and links you have supplied and see where we go. thank you very much again.

I honestly have no idea, how would i find out please ? this car has way too much going on for a simple man like me to comprehend, all i can say is after changing the pollen filter there is more air flowing through the vents so would hope it is job done, maybe because it is a sophisticated french piece it doesn't blow as strongly as say my previous pugs did ! gents, thank you again for your invaluable assistance.
-
Paul, the pollen filter was a disgrace.....needs changing for sure, there was a terrific amount of air blowing from the pollen filter housing when it was empty, so things seem ok up to that point, took the end off the pollen filter so as i could seal the housing back up and the flow through the dash vents seemed a tad better but still not as good as i would expect, will get a new filter and see where we go from there, thank you again.
-
Hi Paul, thank you, yes the motor is working fine had it out of the housing to test it, tried it just on the dash vents which is what first alerted me to the issue, will have a look at the polllen filter as you suggest, you have always come up trumps before so fingers crossed again. Mark.

Haven't come across a topic for this issue, not sure if that's a good or bad thing, the air blowing motor is working fine on all settings but doesn't appear to be pushing the air out of any of the vents very well at all, when it's on full you would think it is on the lowest setting, i've felt inside the motor housing and it appears to have two flaps (windscreen and dash i guess) and an opening for the foot wells, don't know if these aren't opening properly, would sound the obvious problem, anyone have any knowledge/further ideas please ?? cheers,

does anyone collect spanners ? as I now have another one in my works !! having thought my ESP/ASR, limp mode, high turbo pressure, engine management light situation was down to depollution filter/faulty turbo/actuator, I received the following info yesterday after having some further diagnostics:- permanent fault inside the ECU PSA 9651212180 ECU add # 9639907180 Supplier MARWAL D.Version FF also:- intermittent fault, 01,07,02,35 01,07,01,00 01,07,14,35 refer to related manual, so I'm now convinced ECU is at fault until someone told me that it is highly unlike to be ECU more likely to be sensors......!!!! my brain is ready to explode, can anyone please give me some guidance/advise on this ? playing the C5 game is becoming less fun.
-
Hi Rob, it is the 2.2, series 1 C5 I have, I'm sure you are correct about the problem being the external actuator, is there any way to address this issue without replacing the whole turbo please ? also how do you access the turbo ? it looks like a real pain to get to, and finally do you think this would account for the very poor 20 mpg I am getting ? being a Citroen owner is such fun....between the worry and sleepless nights !! Thank you, Mark.

Gentlemen, GOOD NEWS I've had a brake box out test (or something similar) done and I don't have wiring problem, hurrah !! do have a sticking turbo actuator rod and a leaking intercooler tho' am suffering from sticky brown trouser syndrome at the costs quoted by dealer please please tell me some WD40 and RADWELD will sort me out !!!!! thanking you

Hi Paul, car has the following faults displayed on the display, Depollution system fault and occasionally ESP/ASR system faulty, plus service light on dash, took it to Citroen specialists who ran the diagnostics tool and discovered, TURBO PRESSURE TOO HIGH, (torque regulation ??) said this would account for the Depolution system fault and ESP/ASR system faulty, also a sensor going to the fuel cap which tells it how much Eolys fluid to add is faulty, they did a Mitevac test, replaced all 3 main electro valves and re checked parameters, readings ok but same fault appeared on road test, replaced Mass Air flow sensor and boost pressure sensor, still came up with fault, recommend main dealer brake out box diagnostics, would be lovely to think it is just a damaged wire !!!!

Heater Restrictor - Blower Resistor Pack
tampenny replied to spiritof69's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
some quick advice please, i have the same no air blowing, took the motor out and it was very stiff to turn so smothered it with wd40, put 12v to it from an ac-dc source and now turns a lot better, put it back on the car and it wouldn't turn even though there was 12v coming through the connector, removed resistor pack which took out the 12v supply to connector, so guessing resistor pack is shot, now not sure if i should get the old one repaired or buy a new one? and does anyone have experience of buying one from ebay ? most of the forums I have read are quoting about £50, £19.99 on ebay !!! it is too cold to be messing about buying junk, cheers guys. -
Paul, thank you very much for the info about service Citroen.com, I've yet to fully get my head around it but it looks like a wonderful source of information, I have an issue that is slightly baffling me and wondered if I could call upon you again ?? had some diagnostics done on the car and the airbag fault came up as drivers side airbag squib, I contact my local dealer who was firstly confused by the terminology and couldn't find anything on the system, I guess they use the service Citroen.com as I cannot find anything either, had little joy from Haynes manual, Google or Ebay for a C5 so wondered if you have any experience of such a thing please ?? I still live in hope that it is in fat something wrong under the seat, ever the optimist !!!! also have you heard of a fault code C1390 - engine torque regulation ?? the guy that did the diagnostics had never heard of this which worries me, what kind of issue is this if a mechanic doesn't know about it ? I fully appreciate that asking you is cheating and not really in the spirit of the forum but being new and inexperienced is my only defense and I'm sure if you can't help me you give it to me straight, I have plenty to be doing for now, would love a rain free day so I can crack on with it, cheers again, Mark.

Hi Paul, mine is a MK1, you are right about these problems being easily and more importantly free fixes, plus by interacting you get to know a bit about the car, for example when i was repairing the wires for the rear wiper i noticed the third brake light was full of water, surely not a good situation in anyone's book, i can't for the life of me work out how to access it but i'm sure Mr Manuel Haynes will put me right !!! while i have your attention can i run a few things by you please ?? i'm getting Airbag fault, depollution system fault and something like EPS/PBA system fault coming up on the display, are these the kind of thing that a Lexia 3 diagnostics can sort out please ?? Also the electric door mirror on drivers side insists on doing a 180 deg turn instead of a 90 deg when coming out of parking mode, this will be the next job once the heated seat thing is done, just thought i would ask, hope you don't mind, i genuinely appreciate all the help you have given me and if you ever need advice on say...i don't know, the Wombles or Quantum Physics i will be happy to return the favour. Best wishes, Mark.

Hello good Citroen people, I have just got my first Citroen having been a Pug person for many years, it's an 04 plate C5 automatic deisel estate, having just successfully taken your advice on two problems here's another if you would be so kind !!!! drivers seat not heating up, checked fuse, fine, heat adjuster on side of seat set to 3, electric backward and forward working fine, passenger seat no problems, have a Haynes manual on order but please save my nads from becoming snowballs in the meantime !!! thank you.
-
Gentlemen another winner !!! thank you very much, took the unit out, unplugged everything, put it back together and boom !!! aural pleasure for all, do now have a message come up saying 'Medical advice call failing. Please consult your dealer' hopefully some diagnostics will sort that out, two out of two, right if you are willing and able lets get this heated seat problem sorted, thank you once again.

cheers guys, i'm not sure if it's mk1 or 2, how can i tell the difference please ?? there is definitely no F20 fuse, it is different to what the hand book says as i have a F29 and F30 but not a F20 or F36 i think it is the original unit as it was working fine up until two days ago, will attempt to get it out and have a look, thanks,

Hello good Citroen people, I have just got my first Citroen having been a Pug person for many years, it's an 04 plate C5 automatic deisel estate, having just successfully taken your advice with one problem here's another !!!! there is no sound coming from the audio unit, cd changer or radio, although that annoying traffic master woman still manages to get through, in fact the source button won't even let me switch to radio mode !!! so have six cd's full of wonderful music which I cannot hear, tried looking for the relevant fuse, F20, but it doesn't appear to be there, have all the other fuse numbers but not this one, am i cursed ?? should i have gotten a 407 instead ?? thanking you in advance, again !!!

Hello good Citroen people, I have just got my first Citroen having been a Pug person for many years, it's an 04 plate C5 automatic deisel estate, now the problem is the rear wiper starts wiping when I unlock the central locking also when put the car into reverse, off it goes left, right, left, right, then stops anywhere it chooses, usually upright in the middle of the screen, does anyone have any idea at all where I can start with this most bizarre problem please ?? my hand is outstretched and ready to be guided. Thanking you.
