  1. Are you asking us, or telling us? Can pick up relays for less than £10.
  2. This is a common fault and Citroen are aware of this and there is a fix but it can only be carried out by a Citroen dealership. I'm assume this is a petrol 1.6? If so, this involves placing a new coolant temp sensor through one of the coolant bleed screws which, through some unplugging and plugging in, it bypasses the faulty coolant temp sensor. This fault would be confirmed with a diagnostic check and observing the fault codes logged.
  3. Very welcome to the forum. Sadly, the C5 sidelight bulbs are what they are.
  4. Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear of your collision. On the ZX, the indicator and main headlight unit are separate units. I'm assuming your vehicle is in the UK and right hand drive? Here is the headlight cluster ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/181658066242?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108 Here is the indicator ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/221668734598?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108 ***I assume no responsibility for the quality of these items!***
  5. Also, turbo's on Citroen units usually go due to starvation of oil. Ensure the vehicle has sufficient oil and clean oil.
  6. I couldn't say I have ever heard of a turbo "screeching". Have you considered the auxiliary belt? In order to eliminate this, remove this belt and run the vehicle for a very short period of time. This will eliminate all parts connected to this belt if noise goes away. Be aware, you can only run the vehicle for a very short period of time as you will not have the alternator charging the battery. If there is any issue with a turbo making excessive noise, the only solution is to replace it.
  7. How to fix? Confirm where the leak is coming from 100% and replace. Always good to replace slightly more that is needed, so do seals and fuel return lines.
  8. If you have an automatic or piloted manual gearbox, it will "powerlatch" after the ignition has been switched off for about 30 seconds.
  9. Disconnecting a battery at the "wrong" time has the potential to corrupt ECU data. Have I ever actually seen this happen on any vehicle? No. But they say it can!
  10. By the way, make sure your 1.6 HDi is piping hot before draining oil or it's bye bye turbo.
  11. I don't have kids but I had bother when allowing my wife to drive one of my cars. I drive a Citroen C4 Coupe at the moment and the insurance is in my name, with me as the main and only driver. However, I also have a Peugeot 206 CC under my care which I never use but had the same kind of insurance. Within the last 6 months or so, my wife was needing a car more so I fixed up the 206 to make it safe and put her on as a named driver. However, she got two speeding tickets from officers (not cameras) since then and the insurance got wind of this and then assumed she was the main driver and cancelled the policy unless I could prove otherwise. I couldn't and she had to be come main driver and I took my name off completely. It is now very, very expensive. This insurance is with Kwik Fit, wouldn't recommend. Looking to change when I get my new C4 Cactus and when policy on 206 expires in 1 year from now.
  12. To my understanding, the main driver must have ownership and insurance in their name?
  13. I'm an technician and MoT tester and an engine management light would not fail an MoT test. An MoT values are car for anything above scrap. I would put as an advisory however.
  14. Welcome to the forum, Sam! Hopefully, we can assist you in your choice. :)
