  1. Hi Paul for very lengthy delay in thanking you for reply but ended up in hosp getting an emergency triple bypass . It turns out the fuel filter was not replaced during the service . I have purchased a fuel filter and intend doing that soon as at present I have lots of time on my hands . Is this a fairly straight forwards job? Thanks Frank.
  2. Partner has just got a 68hp 1.4HDi 2002 which seems to run poorly ie sligtly down on power and slightly jerky for a few miles before its really warmed up then it seems to run ok . Its covered a genuine 62k and has just been serviced but with no improvement . Has anyone had any similar issues and explanations or any ideas of what to look at first ? Cheers in advance .
  3. Thanks again Paul . Had a chap over to replace tyres and do a std service on the car and sadly extract the oil via the dipstick tube thanks to a savage having wrecked the sump plug. He is going to get the relevant software and come along this monday and do a diagnostic on the car for me and see what the story is . Thanks again to all for the replies . F
  4. Hi cheers again . Not sure what level the eloys at but may end up just getting the diagnostics done . I assume being pre 2004 its no obd type for diagnostics and would prob have to be taken to a Citroen dealer ? Any ides the sort of cost for e eloys fill ?
  5. Hi Paul . Thanks. On way back from holiday one warning showed momentarily { no others appear } and that was to do with a filter blocked but sadly due to stupidity and old age I cannot remember which one it said .
  6. Thanks for that . Found it . Is there a special tool required for removing the cap to allow me to replace the fuel filter and anything I need to watch out for ?
  7. Thanks everyone for the help . Just back from a holiday {350 mile round trip} and the car was a pig . Loss of power whenever it felt like it . I will try and see if I can get someone in the first instance to adjust the pedal travel then deal with whatever may be causing the intermittent loss of power. The Pedal is actually over 2 inches lower than Brake and Clutch pedals . Thanks again .
  8. Hi I have the C5 2.2Hdi 03 .Ive been told I should regularly drain the water from the fuel filter . Id happily do that but have spent some time and cannot seen to locate the fuel filter. Can anyone point me in the correct direction . Thanks in advance.
  9. Hi Many thanks for the prompt response. I actually thought it was connected at the footwell via a multiplug to a sensor there but you say its on a cable to the sensor at the rear of the battery . Many thanks I go have a look .
  10. Hi . Having just bought my 2.2HDI 03 estate. The seller drove it on the test drive as I had not brought my insurance and it seemed fine . When I took the keys and drove off the accelerator pedal seems very close to the floor ie just a couple of inches of movement before it hits the stop and much lower than the other 2 pedals . It also seems to be a little slow to respond when the pedal is pressed . I have just moved from a Alfa 156 2ltr petrol so it may just be me but just wondered if the pedal should be level with the other pedals . If not can it be adjusted . Thanks in advance . Tilt.
  11. Just picked up a C5 Exclusive 2.2HDi 03 estate yesterday , love its shape. Lets hope the shape and reliability work together. .
