  1. Thanks for the quick reply Looking underneath the gaitor seems to be slightly damp but not dripping wet as I was told. Checked the lsd fluid and it is just abit above the bottom of the strainer cap thing. Should I be concerned about it for now or perhaps leave it and see how it gets on, I was told that they have the tendency to sweat a little bit in those areas, I just don't want to leave it incase it progresses and becomes more problematic. How hard is the dyi for it?
  2. Hi guys haven't posted in a while I just had an mot, the tester informed me that there is slight damping on the o/s/r gaitor, firstly it was soaking but then said it was damp, i had no idea what he was talking about. Could someone tell me please, what should I firstly be checking and how would I check the suspension fluid level? There's some controversy whether it should be lowered max and engine running and others that it should be normal driving height engine off. Do both of these provide you with accurate measurement to the level? Perhaps if I first check the level, fill up if needed, then observe to see whether or not it drains then maybe then I can carry out other inspections getting under the car. Cheers guys
  3. Haven't posted in a while, jus an update, after having a Citroen specialist work on it a whole day with no success, whilst he was working on it trying to sell me a turbo, with the tip of my finger I felt a nail thin split in the solonoid valve pipe, changed the pipe and the turbo works like new again. The chap gave me back the £120 that he charged me for nothing and put the turbo which he had ready to sell to me back in the shed.
  4. Took it on myself checked all the wiring I could access from top and bottom, bought a second hand selonoid valve which seemed to have a "rattle" in it, fitted it and still no success...what's next? Cheers
  5. There is 3 of them solenoid valves, which one is it and how do you remove them from the mounting? Seems like a job cheers
  6. Thanks for the reply, all busy today, tomorrow I'll get a chance to look at it and let you know how it goes
  7. Hi guys, new to the forum, I'm Martin. Recently purchased a 2002 Citroen c5 hdi 110 with 65k on the clock, which to me was a bargain considering I got it for £1200 Having issues with it quite recently, first and most important is the turbo, the turbo doesn't seem to work when it's supposed to, the boost is there it's fine and more than less often it works on short distance drives, anywhere over 15-20 miles journey the turbo cuts out and stays out until the engine cools down over time(mystery), no strange noises or smoke. I had it diagnosed which showed up p0246 which supposedly is turbo pressure, not sure if I can provide anyone with more details but does anybody have any clues as to where I should start the investigation as I am a total newbie and have no idea what to look for, a bloke at the local garage has offered to inspect the pipes and "stuff"(his words) for £100 +vat afterwich he also said that it is more than likely that I will need to get a new turbo, but without investigating how the hell did he come up with that. Thanks for any replies and help
