  1. Just as I fixed the last issue I am now having a new issue with my mk2 C5 138 hdi. There is a lack of low down power and also a permanent depollution faulty message with the check engine light on. I also ocassionally get the ASR/ ESR parking brake faulty but this is only probably once a week. I drive around 500 motorway miles a week so the DPF should be getting cleared. The scanner shows P2084 and P2562 faults but not sure what it points towards. I have ruled out Maf sensor as unplugging makes no difference. I cannot see any vacuum leaks or leaks in the pipes but struggling to diagnose the issue.
  2. I was wondering if someone can help. The timing belt slipped on my 2010 C5 2.0 hdi 138 so my local garage replaced all valves, rocker arms, new head gasket and timing belt which was all lined up. It briefly started after replacement but had a very rough idle, after this it is refusing to start. The injectors are working and getting voltage, hp pump fine and ecu and fuse box has been checked and all fine but it still refuses to start. It will only start on easy start but switches off as soon as no easy start is used. Mechanic believes timing is correct as there is compression but he has not done a gauge test on each cyclinder also is it possible he has got the valve timing slightly incorrect or would it more likely be an electrical issue such as injectors losing there programming. I appreciate any responses.
  3. Hi, mechanic has now had a look and it is the timing belt that is damaged and has lost its a lot of its grooves. I am not sure why this happened as according to the service history it was replaced by Citroen main dealer only 43000 miles ago and should last longer. The mechanic will now strip and assess the damage which he believes will be valves, tappets and head gasket but not sure exactly how many will need replacing. Does anyone have any experience of likely damage if the vehicle was travelling at 50 mph when it stopped.
  4. Appreciate your help guys. The last time fuel filter was checked there were no metal bits in the filter but I will be putting in a new bosch filter tomorrow morning and will check if there are any metal bits. I have got the live data results below but scanner did not have any freeze frame data. Live Data when cranking: not cranking ignition only DTC_CNT 0 same LOAD_PCT (%) 0 same ETC 2 same MAP (kpa) 100 same RPM (/min) 198 0 VSS (km/h) 0 same IAT 2 same MAF (g/s) 1.93 fluctuates between 7 and 87 but reduces to 1.87-1.93 when cranking TP (%) 0.0 same AIR_STAT OFF G same OBD EOBD same MIL_DIST 0 same FRP (kpa) 300 same
  5. Have now run a diagnostic and it only brings back code p1207 fuel pressure regulator. Is this an easy fix can it be done with basic knowledge or will it need recovery to a garage?
  6. It does crank but does not start due to no fuel going in. I am hoping it is not expensive fix. Would this happen if diesel was contaminated?
  7. It feels soft but within a few squeezes it it tightens up. After attempting to start it goes soft again until you squeeze and it tightens again. Fuel filter was changed 6 months ago but I used a cross land filter from eurocarparts and not a oem filter. Is there anything else it could be?
  8. It doesn't seem to start even in cold weather and when it shut down there were no warning lights or messages. I am guessing the lift pump should make some noise under the back driver side seat when ignition is on. It is quite easy to access so will have a look at that first
  9. I am having issues with my mk2 c5. Whilst driving the car suddenly cut out and would not restart. The recovery guy said fuel is not going into the engine and it was not battery/ alternator related. I tried the small pump near the fuel filter but still was not starting. I am guessing it is either the small fuel sender pump near the tank or fuse/ relay to the pump but appreciate any ideas or things I can check before throwing money at it. Also recently when switching engine off i could some clicking noise at the back of the vehicle driver side but could be unrelated.
  10. Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. I have a 2010 C5 Saloon with an issue of water ingress into the drivers footwell during heavy rain or when I use a carwash. I have noticed after coming out of carwash you can hear water moving around somewhere between the back of the centre console and the engine bay but not sure on exactly the reason for this to happen or if it is related to water drainage. The ingress is not visible instantly it seems to build up slowly. I have checked all the door/ window seals and they all seem ok. I am hoping someone else has had the same issue and could let me know if they managed to fix the issue.
