That sounds as though the pads are loose in the housings.   Maybe a previous owner has fitted some inferior pads that are not quite up to spec.   But also the holding springs may not have been fitted correctly

I've just bought an '05 C3 which has a rattle after I've gone about 50 miles. This rattle disappears for a short while if I touch the footbrake pedal.

Any ideas? I'll have a nosey at the front brakes if I can't suss it.
