Ive found a couple of guides on youtube Guide 1
They are both in French and are not the best quality. One guide seems to show that I need torx sockets and the other show normal socket. Any idea what I need before I start jacking the car up? It a C4 1.6 Diesel. Are they any other guides, I can't find any. Thanks
It has a manual adjuster on the dash under the steering wheel which doesn't work, so no auto leveling here. However, when I first switch the lights on they do move slightly. I have found the 2006 sales brochure listing the the different options between each of the variants. I have the "Cool" edition, and according to the brochure it does not have heated or folding mirrors. So that's that problem solved!
Just got myself a second hand 2007 1.6 HDi with 75000 miles on the clock. I'm really happy with it but have noticed a couple of problems. The headlamp manual height adjuster doesn't work, annoying as they are pointing quite low. The mirrors I believe are supposed to be heated but they are not getting hot. Also the mirror adjuster for both mirrors on the drivers door doesn't work. I looked in the manual to see if it is a fuse problem but can't find anything mentioning headlamps or mirrors. In the fuse box in the glove box there is a thick red wire not connected. Don't know if this has anything to do with it. Ive attached a picture.
Looking at the specs, fuel consumption, top speed etc, there seems to be very little difference between the 92bhp and the 110bhp variants. That's on paper, any experiences of the two in reality. Does the 92bhp feel underpowered?
Thanks for your reply. Hopefully the dpf shouldn't be much of an issue for me. I do a 70 mile round trip each day with 50 of that on the motorway. If there is soot building up then my driving pattern should dissipate this. As for the turbo, are there any stand out indicators that one could be on it's way out or do they just fail without warning? I'm after the best MPG i can find so the 2.0 is not an option for me. Ill have a look in the technical section for the pinned topic. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Im thinking of buying a second hand 2006 to 2008 1.6 Manual Diesel with around 60k to 75k miles. Are there any common faults or issues that I need to be aware of or look out for when buying? What's the recommend interval for cam/timing belt changes? Thanks.
