  1. I've had my 1.8L 2004 mk1 Estate for 3 years now, with no issues to speak of. I'm quite low on the DIY mechanic scale, but my Haynes manual usually sees me through the fairly easy to fairly difficult procedures. Recently, the low blower settings 1 and 2 stopped working on the manual heater and AC system. According to this site and other sources, this is a common issue with the blower motor resistor and an easy fix. The attached image is from my Haynes manual, showing the area where the resistor (red arrow) should be. In my car, however, this slot is empty. I've had a look around to see if I can find anything that resembles the resistor unit with the green connectors, without success. In the Haynes image, a cable bundle is seen coming from the top left side, sprouting 3 offshoot cables before heading straight forwards toward the resistor. In my car I can see the offshoots, but the cable bundle then turns rearward and appears to end in a blue connector under the centre console. Obviously, some vital piece of information has escaped me here. I'm clueless as to how I should go about solving this poser, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
