  1. Cheers for your help. found the fault, brushes on starter were U/S also the "ameter" (my words) needed a good cleaning, supposed should be expected after 100k. Now starting as NORMAL. What a job to remove the starter, these car designers must be masochistic by birth.
  2. Just had clutch fitted, everything was fine, drove around no problem, Parked up for an hour could not start engine. Insert key into ignition starter does not engage, lights on dash flash. Jump start car everything ok turn off ignition the same happens no starter engagement, ANY HELP PLEASE
  3. Thanks for the info but would a problem with the CV stop me engaging any gear?. Car being picked up tomorrow morning for a trip to te garage for remedial surgery. Hope it is not tooo painfull on the wallet.
  4. No sign of fluid under the car. Merthyr - sometimes Port Eynon.
  5. Hi Help needed please. It would seem that I have experinced clutch failiure on my Berlingo 2.0 people carrier. First noticed a slight noise from what I thought was the offside front bearing. I drove for some 30 miles, stopping and starting with no difficulty. Having to stop at a roundabout (hill start) I experienced what felt like intermittent grabbing of the drive wheels, pulled away after some footwork on the clutch pedal. Had no problem for the next 2 miles when I reached home and the garage. I placed car into reverse and shuddering started, then lost all gears. Tried to engage gears when smoke emitted from under the bonnet. Turned off ignition and smoke stopped. My thoughts were t hat due to the non selection of gears the clutch was under pressure. Can someone throw some inteligence my way please to diagnose the probelm. Much happreciated if any one can.
  6. So sorry have not replied earlier. I purchased two fob case, one of which was useless, the other was perfect and so simple to refettle the innards into the new case, as for the blade itself had to be a little forcefull and careful removing fro the old case but gentle persuasion and it parted and was slpipped into the new case. Was delighted that the unit worked the central locking and no need to visit the dealer. Cost of fob case £5.49 from ebay, saving min £95.There is a company operating who will fit parts into a new unit at a cost of £18 if you send them your key. Cheers
  7. Hi Berlingo 2004 HDI 2.0ltr My key fob is falling apart, asked dealer for replacement and they quoted £100. So far have managed by wrapping shell in sticky tape. Can anyone help and tell me where I can obtain a new case PLEASE.
  8. The citroen saga continued. After the fitting the spring, decided to have a nice liesurely country drive to Llandeilo over the Brecon Beacons. On the way I noticed a knock emanating from the rear (please not the axle) Coming home we encountered the road works on the Beacons (approx 4 miles of rough road) by the time we found a smooth surface there had devloped a tremendous knocking from the rear. To the garage following day for investigations, nothing loose tools secure, after some considerable prodding the only area giving a slight knock was the off side rear shocker which seemed to be in good condition. To evaluate I sat in the car whilst the mechanic examined underneath whilst I bounced around to make the knock which disapeared once the shock was held. A new shock fitted and Cireon is whole again. The car seems to be able to make noises which confound an experience mechanic.
  9. Yes the spring was the problem, much cheaper fix @ £22.00. Than a new axle @ £250 plus delivery plus bearings plus fixing - total £600.00 As I said an expensive mistake, but done after being diagnosed @ Citroen dealer. Thanks for the help.
  10. Thanks for the HELP, Spent a couple of hours this AM in the garage checking items such as shock aborbers as per instructions from company who supplied the axle, Then went down the route of investigating the sensor / spring. Could see nothing which would indicate a problem with the spring, we could apply movement of the suspension by physically lifting and dropping the vehicle, still could not find how the noise was happening until the spring was moved and supporte by a piece of cloth. Applied movement again and hey presto, noise had GONE! Drove a few mile no noise until I hit a pothole. Needless to say new spring ordered. Thanks again for the info, NO need to replace the axle (AGAIN, I HOPE) perhaps there was no need to purchase the axle originally, If only I had written on the members forum before. AN expensive mistake. :D
  11. Thaks for the info, will pass it on to the garage Monday. Where is the load sensing valve located. Have tried following link but for some reason follow on is blocked.
  12. Hi I have a 2004 2.0 ltr hdi. Have purchased a (from a reputable dealer - I'm axle specialists) new axle (recon) because original axle was making a melodious BOING when encountering any uneven surface. New axle fitted - problem still making the same noise, but not quite so bad. Has anyone encountered this problem , if so, I would appreciate any comments PLEASE.
