Citroen C3 2003 Jerks, Possible Torque Convertor Problem?
and y replied to a topic in C3 - Technical
First things first don't drive it second things second get it checked by citroen the more you drive it the more damage will be done the more it will cost to get it repaired, for example, A mate of mine had an auto xantia a gearbox sensor failed and it went in to limp mode (3rd gear) he drove it around for 3-4 weeks untill it had no drive at all and then had to put a new gearbox and sensor in it :D -
hi Dave check the charging on your battery put a multimeter on it set it to volts dc check the charging at about 2000 rpm with no elecs on and then turn the lights and fan on full speed it should charge about 14-14.50 volts if that's OK go to a garage and get them to check the battery if they are both OK you have another fault, also check boot light turns off when the boot is closed and the glove box light turns off too. good luck Andy

thats right citroens are fussy when you stop go in to neutral let your foot off the clutch then press the clutch down count to 3 or 5 then in to reverse that stops it grinding when you go in to reverse.

 i did that just after i bought my car (that was put on when i collected it) i new not to do it but its so big and grabby like so off it comes! anyway i found the best stuff to fix it with is a resin mix glue made by innotec its lasted me 20 months and its still on there. not cheap but its not 75quid and you can pull it off more than once. The BSI unit is basically a computer which handles a multitude of functions such as odometer value, central locking, lights and immobiliser. Some later Bsi units are liable to corrupt their own software program if not “woken up” in a specific way after programming keys or battery disconnection. Procedure for Initialising the BSI after key learning 1. Disconnect the diagnostic tool. 2. Put the driver’s window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off. 3. Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition. 4. Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds. 5. Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.) 6. Switch on the side lights through the driver's window. 7. Switch on the ignition and check system’s functionality. 8. Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds. 9.remove key open & close door test central locking system 10. Start the engine and complete the system’s check. Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items. It did take three attempts following this procedure before it worked. This is advice only good luck Andy.

hi, i have been told that the console or com 2000 can be problomatic i think it sends a signal down to the bsi unit and then to whatever you want to opperate washers, indicators, lights so you need to check weather you have got power going to the washer motor when you pull the lever and if you have an earth. the earth is easy to fix by earthing the pump to the battery the live is not so easy, good luck cheers andy.

hi tim my xsara hdi has done 44000 miles and the clutch is light and after putting a clutch and cable in my saxo that is very light you may need to replace the clutch cable or the clutch and cable

hi bob any french car will drive best on Michelin's although i don't think this will help your problem and my xsara will pull back slightly from full lock this is normal when dry steering when you let the wheel go it will naturally release the tension
