  1. Nope will leave it till next Monday. have use of another van but makes life difficult for work. but hey ho what can you do.in future diy.
  2. Cheers. would you believe the fitter is on holiday till next Monday. I moved it today to get my other van out. its suffering smelly smoke and diesel snap.clatters like a goodun. this is why I normally do my own service as this is the 3rd and last time I let a garage loose on my vehichles.
  3. Took my van into local garage to do timing belt.would have done myself but for weather. seemed ok when I picked it up. started up this evening and it bellowed out smoke and foot flat on the floor only reached 2k, is this normal stationary . wondering if pump timing slightly out.never smoked before.
  4. Thank you for that. will do the same. should I squirt some oil through after and before refitting the sump.
  5. Oil pump, pick up, oil feed pipe, banjo bolts and a new oil cooler arrived today. new vacuum pump ordered. anything else. oh already have new genuine egr.
  6. Cheers will do that, well the lazy way. new one (pierburg) £102.
  7. Cheers. is there a common place for oil leaks. it hasn't used any, previous owner said it left small drips on his drive. doesn't on mine but has a light misting of oil under the bonnet. although could be previous owner sprayed with summat to make engine look pretty. sorry to keep bombarding with questions.
  8. Been reading up on banjo bolt filter in turbo oil feed pipe. it implies filter should be removed and discarded. is this correct or am I mis reading.
  9. Cheers. doing belts etc this week. will get parts ordered ready for following week. parts going to be cheaper than an engine. how easy a job I don't know.
  10. My 1.6hdi came with no service history. 150k so going to do belts. whilst doing this would you bother with new oil pick up, turbo oil feed pipe and oil pump. has a sticker under bonnet saying oil changed couple of k ago nov 2016. was thinking flush change the pick up etc and hope for the best. van very nippy, no play in turbo.
  11. Thank you. I have taken it on a couple of 40+ mile jaunts trying to make it throw a fault. but so far so good, touch wood. 281009157842. is the ebay item number, tried to copy and paste a link but wouldn't let me. moderator edit to add link (done by copying and pasting internet address). It says the part manufacturer is Citroen so maybe it is not a pattern part. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-C2-C3-C4-C5-C8-DISPATCH-BERLINGO-XSARA-PICASSO-DIESEL-MAP-SENSOR-NEW-/281009157842
  12. New map sensor seems to have cured it.
  13. got new belts, pulleys and tensioners, next project. the previous owner said been done, but I like to be sure.
  14. Thank you will have a look at injectors tomorrow. if loose then I will need new seals. love a citroen, gotta change my sons c3 headlight tomorrow what fun that's going to be. I will also change the dispatch fuel filter whilst under the bonnet.
